2 Massachusetts’s Amber Alert System Emails
This one will be very interesting. Not only isn't there a clear explanation but it also doesn't say who to contact for more information. So this one is a starting point, hopefully it is the right person. If not we will find them. EOPS- Programs Division Jane Wiseman, Assistant Secretary 10 Park Plaza, Suite 3720 Boston, MA 02116 Ph: 617-725-3301 Fax: 617-725-0260 Email: eopsinfo@state.ma.us Dear Assistant Secretary Wiseman, I am writing to ask you about your states Amber Alert System. I am part of a group Nationwide that posts information on current and past missing persons. While searching your state I noticed that you do not have a section for local Missing Children Alerts. By that I mean there isn’t a National Alert Ticker or Local one. And when searching many Police Departments web pages there is NO section for abducted/endangered or other missing persons press releases or Alerts. In fact all I could locate was a press release on October 1, 2002 which was prior to the National Mandate about starting an Amber Alert system. The only information I can find is 2 press releases about it being started but where can it be located. . By searching the Internet to locate your States Amber System, precious seconds are being wasted. I implore you please look into this problem and repair it as quickly as possible. Having an Amber Plan in place is great. But if it doesn’t work why have it at all. Look at the case in Ohio of 19 month old Aliyah Starling Myrick. The Amber Alert being issued about six hours after the initial call came in. And no one in our network received that alert because their System is also flawed. She was murdered and left in a park to be found the next day by passersby. All these flaws are doing an injustice to the children it is meant to help. Next to Michigan, Delaware and Connecticut your states systems is in a dead heat for the worst we have seen thus far. If I am wrong please direct me to the proper page. Our members have done exhaustive searches on Yahoo, Google and other search engines and came up empty handed. These are precious seconds that could be used searching for the endangered child or posting flyers. Too many of our children are being murdered because valuable information is not being given out or in a timely manner. I hope you will look into this complaint seriously and remedy the situation. Don’t let another small voice be silenced because of lack of vital information. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Name Removed www.fromwhisperstoroars.org

To cover all bases I am including one for the Governor. To Email Him use: http://www.mass.gov/Agovwebmail/WebMailPageControl.ser?level=101 Dear Governor Mitt Romney, I have several concerns about your states Amber Alert System. I have sent the following email to EOPS- Programs Division Jane Wiseman, Assistant Secretary. I felt it was important to sent it to you also. The State of Massachusetts is severely lacking when it comes to protecting the children and making the public aware of dangerous situations that concern them. Please review this email as soon as possible. I would greatly appreciate a response. Thank you for your time. As small warning. When you use the Governor’s contact us webpage they ask for everything but your blood type. Also they send you a confirmation email that has to be clicked on within 72 hours or your email is deleted. It is a hassle but well worth it. Just think if they were as diligent with their amber system it would be FLAWLESS!! LOL.

I clicked on mine already, and went ahead and gave them my blood type and shoe size, i figured they would eventually ask. :D
