North Little Rock Woman Killed by Live-in Boyfriend Thursday January 04, 2007 8:55pm Reporter: Jessica Morkert Posted By: Talisa Austin North Little Rock - A 20-year-old North Little Rock woman was found dead in her home. Police say her live-in boyfriend stabbed her to death. It happened at the Overbrook Apartments off JFK Boulevard Wednesday night. This homicide is particularly gruesome. North Little Rock police say Harris' one-year-old child was at the home when the stabbing occurred. (Clyde Cook, resident)"I heard a child and a man screaming loud and it kind of tripped me out…" Neighbors overheard the cries of 20-year-old Tamara Harris late Wednesday. She suffered multiple stab wounds to the torso. Harris 20-year-old live-in boyfriend Raylee Jackson Jr. also suffered several cuts to his hand. (Lt. Terry Kuykendall, North Little Rock Police Dept.)"He was transported to a local hospital and treated… At this time a subsequent investigation has led to Mr. Jackson's arrest for first degree murder." North Little Rock police are calling it a domestic altercation. An arrest report indicates that Jackson gave a detailed statement and admitted to stabbing Harris during a disturbance. In 2006 the North Little Rock Police Department reported 13 homicides. In 2005 six were reported. The agency says a homicide occurring so quickly in 2007 is no indication of what the year holds.
