SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. A six- to seven-foot-long boa constrictor has been reported missing in Macomb County.
The snake weighs about 60 pounds. Shelby Township police say it was reported missing Sunday by its owner.
The boa constrictor had been kept at a house shared by two roommates.
The owner moved out recently and the snake was missing when she returned to pick it up.
Ownership of a boa constrictor in the Detroit suburb could be a violation of the township's animal ordinance. The ordinance specifically prohibits owning a boa constrictor longer than four feet.
