ALERT >Domestic Violence Funding APPROPRIATIONS BILLSDomestic Violence Funding Alert
APPROPRIATIONS BILLS
Now that both the House and Senate have passed Budget resolutions, Congress will begin considering language on
funding for domestic violence and sexual assault programs.
This includes Federal funding for VAWA, including those for children and youth, law enforcement, rape crisis centers, prevention programs, emergency shelter and long term housing.
Congress will make critical
funding decisions over the next two weeks. It is crucial that advocates contact their Members of Congress to discuss the importance of funding programs to end domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

Memorial Day Recess
With the Memorial Day Recess schedule to start on Friday, Congress will be back in their districts, meeting with constituents, and attending community events. We encourage all advocates to meet with their Members over the recess and discuss the importance of programs to end domestic and sexual violence in our communities.
With the appropriations process underway this is a
critical time to use the action items above and advocate for necessary funding.
