An Easter message from me
Today I saw an article on Yahoo. It listed all of the things that happened in history on April 16, which is tomorrow.
In 1862, a bill ending slavery in the District of Columbia became law.
In 1912, Harriet Quimby became the first woman to fly across the English Channel.
In 2001, The Miami Herald won for its coverage of the pre-dawn raid by federal agents who took custody of Elian Gonzalez.
And 1 year ago, on April 16, 2005, Authorities in Hillsborough County, Fla., found the body of missing 13-year-old Sarah Michelle Lunde.
In our 6 months on this site, we've lost many children. Let's remember Sarah tomorrow, lets also remember the children we have lost in the last few days; Jamie, Quadrevion, Purvis and Adre'Anna. And those we lost in the past.........Jessie, Crystal, Lauren , Nixzmary, Ricky, too many to mention. Lets remember them this Easter Sunday, reguardless of your beliefs. Because when we let ourselves forget, we are destined to repeat. Remember the lost children tomorrow, on the day Christ rose, and pray that this time next year, we will have gained more lives than we lost. Happy Easter everyone. Stay safe & happy.
Amen Gaia.
As I helped the Easter Bunny fill my childrens baskets tonight all I could think of was all the parents who lost their child and won't be filling a basket this year. It's heartbreaking. But we can't let the grief stop us. After the holidays we have to focus more, fight harder and make changes. With the way things are any one of us may not be filling a basket next year.
So we must all recommit ourselves to the cause and the children. We need to reach more people and tell them how to protect their families. Maybe even start a safety program in our neighborhoods on our own.
Since we have said before we do not accept monitary donations, only your time, anything we come up with we each have to finance ourselves. But it's worth it.
So enjoy this special holiday where one gave all for us, and come Monday we will begin giving our all.
