Bill Targets Child Molesters At Hospitals Last Updated: 05-31-06 at 12:29PM Assemblyman Juan Vargas is targeting health care workers who take advantage of child patients. Vargas announced new legislation at Children's Hospital which would triple the penalty for primary care providers who molest children. Earlier this year, Children's Hospital revealed two instances of molestation and child pornography involving young patients and a therapist and a nurse. The assemblyman says these criminals need to be properly punished for their actions. "We had a beast in here that was willing to rape comatose children," Vargas said. "That person should be in jail for the rest of their lives."
