Video of Anthony jail visit released Last Edited: Thursday, 15 Jan 2009, 6:35 PM EST Created: Thursday, 15 Jan 2009, 6:35 PM EST For the first time Thursday a look at a never before seen jailhouse tape between Casey Anthony and her parents, Cindy and George Anthony. The tape dates back to August about a month and a half after Caylee Anthony was reported missing and more than 3 months before the little girl's remains were found. ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) -- For the first time Thursday a look at a never before seen jailhouse tape between Casey Anthony and her parents, Cindy and George Anthony. The tape dates back to August about a month and a half after Caylee Anthony was reported missing and more than 3 months before the little girl's remains were found. The jail says the tape was just over looked they didn't realize until recently that it was never released. In the video there is a long phone conversation where Casey fights with her parents and gets angry not only at them for what has been said but also the media. Calling what has been reported "just sick" During the 45 minute long tape she keeps explaining to her parents that she has no more information to give about where Caylee might be. Through the entire tapes she talks about how hard it is for her and she tells her mom she spends her day focusing on her case. Cindy Anthony is quick to say the focus needs to be on Caylee. http://www.myfoxorlando.com/myfox/pages/News/Detail?contentId=8258540&version=1&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=3.2.1

Meter reader receives $5,000 reward in Casey Anthony case Amy L. Edwards and Bianca Prieto | Sentinel Staff Writers January 16, 2009 The Orange County meter reader who found Caylee Marie Anthony's remains has received a $5,000 reward from a local lawyer. Roy Kronk accepted a check from Mark NeJame, who formerly represented Caylee's grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony. NeJame said he received $5,000 for his involvement in the case, and he felt it was right to give the money to Kronk. "He had done something good. It was only appropriate to do something good back," NeJame said Thursday. Kronk's attorney released a statement confirming the reward: "Roy is very thankful that Mark NeJame has recognized his singular efforts in finding Caylee and hopes that this sends a message to others that kindness does exist for people who do the right thing in life." Sheriff's investigators recovered the toddler's bones last month after Kronk reported finding a skull in woods along Suburban Drive, a quarter-mile from the grandparents' home. He called several times in August to report seeing something suspicious in the woods, but deputies at the time found nothing. In other developments Thursday: *County officials released a jailhouse video of the Anthonys speaking with Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony, who is charged with killing the toddler. During the Aug. 14 visit, a month after her arrest in July, Casey Anthony tells her parents she is "an emotional wreck." In the video, which shows the family members talking to each other by phone, Casey Anthony describes herself as frustrated and angry. She complains about not being in control or knowing what's going on. "My entire life has been taken from me," she said. Anthony told her mother she wants help from detectives but that the investigators need to help her, too. "I'll try to help them in whatever way that I can, but if they come in here attacking me, they're not getting . I'm sorry," she said. "I need to be looked at as a victim . . . I'm just as much of a victim as the rest of you. And it hasn't been portrayed that way." *Also, the Orange County Sheriff's Office reported that one patrol deputy who allegedly did not properly follow up one of Kronk's tips in August has been temporarily reassigned. Deputy Richard Cain, 40, will work in the supply division, where employees inventory and sort supplies, until the Sheriff's Office's internal investigation is completed. Cain has been criticized for how he handled Kronk's tip on Aug. 13. In an interview this week on ABC's Good Morning America, Kronk said the deputy who responded poked around with a metal stick, "swept his head back and forth and said, 'I don't see anything,' and pretty much, that was it." Kronk didn't name the deputy. But a sheriff's official said Cain was the only deputy to respond in August when Kronk was at the site. As part of the reassignment, Cain must turn in his sworn credentials and agency-issued equipment, including badges, gun, patrol car and radio. Cain is not allowed to represent himself as an Orange County deputy in any way, including for off-duty work. The Sheriff's Office did not say when its internal investigation will be completed. Amy L. Entertainment Deals Could Be Paying For Casey's Defense Monday, January 19, 2009 – updated: 6:30 pm EST January 19, 2009 ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Eyewitness News uncovered bold new allegations that secret entertainment deals could be helping to pay for Casey Anthony's defense. Sources tell Eyewitness News that someone complained to the State Attorney's Office about the funding Jose Baez is using toward Casey's defense. Those sources told WFTV reporter Mary Nguyen the funding could be considered a major conflict of interest. Eyewitness News sources said the judge knows there's a concern about Baez's defense fund. He could decide it's baseless, but if he determines Baez did something wrong he could remove him from the case. Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, has repeatedly avoided all questions about who is paying for his services, but sources told Eyewitness News the State Attorney's Office received at least one complaint, a complaint that Baez may have made a contingent deal with entertainment interests that means he gets paid based on the outcome of the case, which is banned by the Florida Bar. Eyewitness News does know the defense has already received around $200,000, but the terms were unclear. "Because of the nature of this case and, creatively, the abundance of the rumors of the source of the attorney fees," WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer told Eyewitness News . "This court will probably make an inquiry that they'll err on the side of caution." It's not clear how the judge will handle it. Sheaffer said the judge will likely look into Baez's funding source to make sure there is no conflict of interest and to prevent an appeal. "It is to make sure the lawyer is representing the client's best interest and not considering the interest of who's paying the attorney's fee," Sheaffer said. A spokesperson for the State Attorney's Office said the state is aware of the allegations. Prosecutors want to know who is paying his fees and how much money has been spent. The State Attorney's Office spokesperson also said the court is aware of the complaints and it will be up to judge to decide how to handle it. Jose Baez's spokesperson said Baez has not made any contingent deals. He said Baez is involved with coordinating licensing fees and deals with various production companies, but does not profit on those matters DEFENSE SEEKING CHANGE OF VENUE HEARING The case against Casey has been a major story in Central Florida for months, so it was expected that her defense team would try to change venues for her murder trial. Eyewitness News found out Monday the hearing for change of venue could come within the next month. A spokesman for Baez told Eyewitness News the motion had already been filed and they were waiting for a hearing date. EMOTIONAL CASEY SHOWN ON "LOST" JAIL VIDEO Late Thursday afternoon, the Orange County jail released a "lost" video of Casey Anthony being visited by her parents, Cindy and George. It was an emotional jailhouse visit from the start The visit was four months before Caylee Anthony's remains were discovered in a wooded area in the Anthonys' neighborhood. But on August 14, the Anthonys were still searching for an alive Caylee and they wanted answers from Casey. "Can someone let me? Come on! Nobody's letting me speak. You want me to talk. Give me three seconds to say something. I'm not in control of this because I don't know what the hell is going on," an emotional and visually frustrated Casey told her parents. Even though her daughter had been missing for more than two months, Casey said the visit with her parents made her the angriest she had ever been since the case started. That's because Cindy and George pushed her for information on Caylee's disappearance. The "lost" tape was recorded on August 14, just moments before George yelled at a reporter who asked if he believed Caylee was still alive. That frustration carried over during the jail visit, when Casey told her parents she didn't even want to do the video visit because the media would "have a field day with it." "You guys expect me to have a thousand answers and I have nothing. I've been here a month," Casey said. Casey even had a message for the mysterious Zanny the nanny. "Just tell her that we forgive her," Casey said. The Anthonys wanted to make sure her attorney Jose Baez had communicated how much trouble she was in. "Well I just hope he's honestly telling you what you're up against Casey," said Cindy. "Mom I honestly know what I'm up against. Do you know understand what I'm up against? And with keeping me here you're not helping me help myself," said Casey. While, the answers the Anthonys wanted never came, in the end Casey told her parents Caylee would be coming home. "Everyone wants me to have answers, but I don't know what's going on," Casey said. http://www.wftv.com/news/18514454/detail.html

New Documents Reveal Details In Casey Anthony Case POSTED: 1:33 pm EST January 21, 2009 ORLANDO, Fla. -- New documents released by the State Attorney's Office in Orlando show that the body of missing toddler Caylee Anthony was placed in a laundry-hamper bag and then secured in a plastic garbage bag before she was buried. The documents released Wednesday also show the skull still had hair on it and that the mouth was covered with silver duct tape that had been adorned with a heart-shaped sticker. Duct tape also was attached to the toddler's head. Caylee Anthony's body was found last December in woods near where she lived with her mother and grandparents. Her mother, Casey Anthony, has been charged with her murder. The toddler was reported missing to authorities in July, almost a month after she was last seen. http://www.nbc6.net/news/18531126/detail.html

Documents: Heart Sticker On Tape Over Caylee's Mouth Wednesday, January 21, 2009 – updated: 4:02 pm EST January 21, 2009 ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Documents released Wednesday reveal more about what was found at the crime scene along with Caylee Anthony's body, including details about how the body was bagged and clothing that was found with the remains. Investigators say a heart-shaped sticker was intentionally stuck to the duct tape that was found over Caylee's mouth area. Both ends of the duct tape were stuck to Caylee's hair and her hair had to be cut to separate the duct tape, according to documents released Wednesday. Investigators also found a heart-shaped sticker at the scene. The new documents show that Caylee's body was in a cloth laundry bag, which was then placed into a black trash bag. They also found a size three toddler shirt, white shorts with vertical stripes, and a Winnie the Pooh blanket. Also inside the bag was a backpack with the word "adorable" on it and pull-ups with a flower design. Investigators also found a stainless steel knife. Only hours after they found all the things with the body, investigators went back to the Anthonys' home looking for sticker sheets, Winnie the Pooh clothes, garbage bags, adhesive tape and the packaging, chemical components, recipes and containers to make chloroform, baby medication, diapers and pull-up pants, cell phones, toothbrushes and hairbrushes. Eyewitness News was first to report that Caylee's grandmother, Cindy, did not give investigators Caylee's exclusive hairbrush when they asked for it last summer for the purpose of DNA testing. When they went back in December, they got everyone's toothbrushes and hairbrushes. There is also new information contained in the documents about what Orange County meter reader Roy Kronk first saw in August when he called 911 and it's unclear whether he was actually referring to the trash bag containing Caylee's remains. According to the 911 call transcripts, Kronk was describing something white and a gray vinyl bag. Caylee's remains were found in a black bag with yellow handles. Kronk said he didn't investigate the bag further in August, because he saw a dead 6-foot rattlesnake not too far from it. In a supplemental report done by the Orange County Sheriff's Office , one of Casey Anthony's ex-boyfriends, Ricardo Morales, told investigators Casey once joked about giving Caylee "baby medicine putting her to sleep." Investigators looked for baby medicine at the Anthonys' house when they went back in December. Investigators also found a photo with the caption "win her over with chloroform" on Morales' MySpace page. He said he never did it, but found it funny so he posted it on his MySpace page early last year. He told them he never spoke to Casey about chloroform, but she did have access to his computer and could have seen the photo. http://www.wftv.com/news/18530178/detail.html

Fla. Bar Investigating Casey Anthony's Attorney Thursday, January 22, 2009 – updated: 6:08 pm EST January 22, 2009 ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Eyewitness News has uncovered details of two investigations by the Florida Bar Association into Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez. One involves how Baez advertised himself and the other deals with making false statements against public officials. Casey Anthony's defense team has sent out dozens of media releases throughout the case and some include accusations against the state attorney and prosecutors. Sources tell Eyewitness News it may be a violation Florida Bar rules and now Jose Baez could get in trouble with the Bar. The Bar has confirmed it has two open investigations. The first involves Jose Baez's PR firm, Press Corp Media, run by Todd Black. In the past, Baez's spokesperson has released statements to the media about State Attorney Lawson Lamar and prosecutors. In one release, it states, "Lawson Lamar is facing tough opposition and having a missing baby is a perfect springboard for free commercial time." Another release states, "The prosecution has manipulated and shamelessly used the media in the reporting of false distorted … evidence." Sources told Eyewitness News officials are looking into whether or not Baez violated a rule that states lawyers can't make false statements about judges or legal officials. The second investigation deals with Baez possibly violating advertising rules, where he claimed to have more credentials and experience than he really did. The two complaints are in addition to an informal complaint made to the State Attorney's Office. Sources told Eyewitness News there are allegations that Baez maybe using entertainment deals to fund his defense team. On Wednesday, Baez denied that. "To be honest, I have been a target of numerous complaints," Baez said in an early evening news conference Wednesday. "They're just people's wild accusations and the Florida Bar has to investigate them." WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said, if the Bar found probable cause, Baez would probably only receive a letter of advisement. The spokesperson for the State Attorney's Office would not confirm or deny if the complaint came from them. NEW HEARING SET FOR JANUARY 30 A new hearing was announced early Thursday evening in the Casey Anthony case. The defense wants the judge to order the owner of the property where Caylee's remains were found to let them in to inspect the area. The defense also wants records on whether Texas EquuSearch volunteers searched that same area. The judge will hear the motions on Friday, January 30. DOCUMENTS: HEART STICKER ON TAPE OVER CAYLEE'S MOUTH Hundreds of pages of new evidence were released Wednesday in the case against Casey Anthony and it details every single thing detectives found at the crime scene where Caylee Anthony's body was dumped. http://www.wftv.com/news/18541911/detail.html

Baez wants prosecutors removed from case Last Edited: Tuesday, 27 Jan 2009, 9:06 PM EST Created: Tuesday, 27 Jan 2009, 9:00 PM EST ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35, Orlando) -- A new motion was filed late Tuesday by Jose Baez the defense attorney for Casey Anthony who is accused of murdering her daughter Caylee Anthony. Baez wants a judge to remove state prosecutors form the case. In fact he wants the Attorney Generals office to take over prosecution of the case completely. In an ‘Emergency Motion to Recuse’ Baez accuses the state attorney’s office of filing complaints against him with the Florida Bar Association. Baez claims they are impeding his client’s right to consul of her choice. Because of that Baez wants to remove state prosecutors from the case and have the Attorney Generals office take over the case. The motions filed late Tuesday come in addition to other motions filed earlier in the day by the defense team. Among them is one that asks the judge to rescind his order forcing Casey Anthony to attend every court hearing. The judge made that ruling two weeks ago when he forced Anthony to attend a hearing. He subsequently ordered her to attend every hearing. One of Baez’s latest motions objects to the judge’s order forcing Anthony to attend every hearing. According to the motion, Baez said forcing Casey to appear "only fuels the circus like atmosphere which paints the defendant in a negative light." Baez also claims that following court appearances the media is too focused on Casey’s appearance. Baez wrote that the appearance’s "have generated unsubstantiated rumors regarding the defendants physical condition." and "have generated unsubstantiated rumors regarding the defendants physical condition." He also argues that constant negative exposure takes away Casey’s right's to due process., a fair trial and her ability to seat a fair and impartial jury. Monday Casey Anthony printed her name signed a paper saying she is waives her right to appear at Friday’s pretrial discovery motion. The problem is Friday's court date is for a motions hearing where a judge will be making decisions directly related to her case. No word on if Judge Stan Strickland will rule on any of the new motions before or during the hearing Friday. http://www.myfoxorlando.com/myfox/pages/News/Detail?contentId=8318625&version=2&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=3.2.1

No Caylee Anthony doll - now it's Casey voodoo dolls By Amy L. Edwards Orlando Sentinel Wednesday, January 28, 2009 The Jacksonville company that planned to sell a doll inspired by slain 2-year-old Caylee Marie Anthony suspended its launch of the product after a wave of criticism. But a different product — voodoo dolls crafted by a New Orleans artist of the suspect in Caylee's death, her 22-year-old mother, Casey Anthony — was drawing bidders on eBay. Showbiz Promotions came under fire this week after announcing it would sell the blond, 18-inch Inspirational Caylee Sunshine Doll for $29.99. The doll plays the song "You Are My Sunshine" when her bellybutton is pushed. The lawyer representing Caylee's grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony, said he was thankful for the media attention and public opposition, which "forced them into pulling it, because they wouldn't have done it by themselves." "I think that it's another perfect example of individuals out there with no level of decency that prevents them from trying to profit from this little girl's death," attorney Brad Conway said. The same day Showbiz Promotions halted its plans, people were placing bids on eBay for a voodoo doll of Casey Anthony. Three Anthony voodoo dolls made by a New Orleans artist were on sale with bids starting at $19.99 and $29.99, respectively. But by Tuesday evening, the top bid on one of those dolls had jumped to $61. That doll is accompanied by handcuffs, a Bible and white sunglasses, according to the description. The Orlando Sentinel contacted the seller, who said via e-mail that the artist would not comment. Sandra Lee said the artist wanted to remain anonymous and that they are close friends who met at a spiritual-healing internship. They practice healing medicine in the Boston area through dolls and dream catchers. Lee said they visited the Anthony family home in late November. "We visit a location whenever we create a spiritual artifact. This enables us to practice the art of creating the spell," she said. "Without trespassing, of course, we captured what we needed in order to do our job." In other developments: Conway said he hopes to know by Thursday, where and when the Anthonys will hold a public memorial service for Caylee. Several motions were recently filed in the criminal case against Casey Anthony, who faces numerous charges including first-degree murder. Defense attorney Jos? Baez filed an objection to a judge's earlier order stating she needed to attend future court proceedings. Baez stated that requiring Anthony's presence at pre-trial hearings "only fuels the circus-like atmosphere which paints the Defendant in a negative light." He stated that following court appearances, "the media have focused on the appearance of the Defendant and have generated unsubstantiated rumors regarding the Defendant's physical condition further lessening the integrity of the process." Baez filed another motion asking for a bevy of detailed information, ranging from investigators' notes, photos and "memorialization of telephone conversations" to documents involving the Orange County medical examiner. A member of the Anthonys' defense team filed a motion late Tuesday asking the court to remove the prosecutors because of alleged leaks to the media and other suspected improprieties. http://www.palmbeachpost.com/news/content/state/epaper/2009/01/28/0128voodoo.html?cxtype=rss&cxsvc=7&cxcat=0

Fla. mom's lawyers can view wooded crime scene By MIKE SCHNEIDER - Associated Press Writer ORLANDO, Fla. -- A judge on Friday denied a motion from Casey Anthony's defense attorneys to remove prosecutors from her murder trial but ruled that the defense team can inspect woods where the remains of her slain toddler were found. Casey Anthony is charged with killing her daughter, Caylee, who was 2 when she disappeared last summer. The motion alleged that someone in the prosecutor's office in Orlando filed a complaint with the Florida Bar against Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, in an effort to interfere with her right to effective counsel. The motion also alleged that the complaint was an attempt to taint a potential jury pool and that the case should be taken from the State Attorney's Office in Orlando and given to the Office of State Attorney General. Circuit Judge Stan Strickland ruled there was no evidence that Anthony's rights had been violated. Casey Anthony, 22, smiles Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, as she attends a court hearing at the Orange County Courthouse in Orlando, Fla. Attorney Jose Baez said he will file a motion to move Casey Anthony’s trial to another city. Prosecutors said it could be later this year before the case is ready. Anthony is charged with first-degree murder of her daughter Caylee Marie Anthony whose remains were found in December 2008. Casey Anthony attended the pretrial hearing in business attire rather than a jail jumpsuit after the judge this week ordered her to appear at all hearings dealing with evidence and witnesses. Caylee Anthony's remains were found last December by a utility worker in woods near where the toddler lived with her mother and grandparents. Caylee Anthony disappeared last June but a month passed before she was reported missing to authorities. Casey Anthony has claimed that a baby sitter kidnapped Caylee. Forensic experts on her defense team have been wanting to examine the woods where the remains were found for weeks but the property owner has been uncooperative, Baez said. The judge gave the defense team permission to examine the crime scene. Baez told the judge that he intended to seek a change of venue because of the publicity the case has generated in Orlando. No formal request has been made yet, and both the defense attorney and prosecutor in the case said in court that the trial won't take place until later in the year. "We want her to have her day in court," Baez said after the hearing. "She is innocent and wants her day in court." The judge also heard a defense motion to force a search and recovery group to turn over records related to its search for Caylee's remains. Texas Equusearch organized hundreds of volunteers to search areas in Orlando, including an area near where Caylee's remains were eventually found. The defense request also seeks records on the volunteers. An attorney for the search group, Mark NeJame, called the request a "fishing expedition" and told the judge he didn't have jurisdiction to issue a subpoena for the records because the search group was based in Texas, not Florida. None of the volunteer searchers were in the exact spot where Caylee's remains were found, NeJame said. In a ruling issued several hours after the hearing, the judge denied the request. http://www.thestate.com/166/story/668780.html?RSS=untracked

Questionnaire To Casey Anthony: Do You Know Who Killed Caylee? Church To Host Public Memorial Service For Caylee POSTED: Friday, January 30, 2009 UPDATED: 11:40 pm EST January 30, 2009 ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony may soon be asked if she knows who killed her daughter, Caylee, in a questionnaire from the attorneys representing Zenaida Gonzalez. Anthony, 22, remains jailed on first-degree murder charges in the death of her daughter, whose remains were found last month near the home she shared with her mother and grandparents. Anthony has said that she left Caylee with a baby sitter at the Sawgrass Apartments in Orange County in mid-June, but they were gone when she returned to pick up her daughter. Anthony did not report Caylee missing until a month later. A woman named Zenaida Gonzalez, who has the only known link to Sawgrass, has filed a civil defamation suit against Anthony, claiming she has been harmed by being linked to the case. Earlier this month, a judge ordered that Anthony answer written questions from Gonzalez's attorney, Keith Mitnik, as a compromise after Anthony's attorneys refused to allow her to be deposed in person. "We got a lot of things to ask -- some more important than others -- but we got lots of questions," Mitnik said after the Jan. 8 hearing. The questionnaire contains numerous questions, including: Do you know who killed Caylee? (Caylee's name is misspelled on the questionnaire) Do you admit the story you told law enforcement that Caylee was with someone named Zenaida Gonzalez the last time you saw her is not true? The questionnaire also asks Anthony about Gonzalez: How many children did she have? What were the children's names? What kind of car did she drive? Did she have any tattoos? "We want the answers to those questions as fast as we can get them," said Mitnik. "This thing isn't about money. It's about this lady's reputation that's been trashed in the worst possible way." Anthony can choose to take the 5th Amendment and not answer the questions, although Mitnik has argued that he does not think it applies. Defense Searches Remains Site Meanwhile, Anthony's defense team on Friday searched the wooded area where Caylee's remains were discovered. The search occurred just hours after the defense was granted permission to search the site by a judge in a court hearing. Sources close to the case told Local 6 News that the search was the first of many that the defense team will make to the site. The defense team did not answer any questions after searching the site. Church To Host Memorial Service Also on Friday, it was announced that the First Baptist Church Orlando will host a public memorial for Caylee. The date and time for the service has not yet been announced. Anthony, who has been ordered to attend court hearings in her case, appeared in the courtroom on Friday wearing a gray suit jacket with her hair pulled back in a bun. She did not speak at the hearing, although she was seen smiling and laughing with her attorneys before the hearing began. Caylee Blog Tuesday Feb 3, 2009 3 PM ET - An attorney for Casey Anthony says the tot mom will not answer an in-depth questionnaire from the Zenaida Gonzalez connected to Sawgrass Apartments. Gonzalez has filed a defamation lawsuit, after Anthony says a nanny named Zenaida Gonzalez kidnapped Caylee. Anthony's lawyer says she will answer to her name and date of birth, but will reply to questions like, who killed Caylee, by citing her Fifth Amendment right. Not only is the tot mom involved in the defamation lawsuit, Zenaida Gonzalez wants to depose the Anthony family, including Casey Anthony's brother, Lee. And are there still plans for a secret funeral behind jailhouse walls? While the Anthonys say they want to be able to grieve Caylee's death along with Casey Anthony, jail officials reportedly say the only grieving the family could do together behind bars is by video conference. No word yet on a defense motion for change of venue for the upcoming murder trial. Monday Feb 2, 2009 5 PM ET - Jail officials confirm they confiscated a "Caylee" bracelet during a routine search at the courthouse before tot mom Casey Anthony was given her business suit. The clothes were dropped off by lead defense attorney Jose Baez. But the jail cannot confirm whether it was Baez or mom Cindy Anthony who put the outfit together, hiding the rubber bracelet in a sock. The bracelet is white with purple lettering and says "Forever in our hearts Caylee Marie Anthony". It is considered contraband but not illegal contraband and jail officials have closed the matter. We finally have a copy of the questionnaire by Zenaida Gonzalez' attorney for tot mom Casey Anthony to answer. Here are just a few of the questions: Who else did you tell that Zenaida Gonzalez was babysitting? How many times did she babysit for you? Describe in detail what you told either of your parents about Zenaida Gonzalez and when you told them this information? Do you know who killed Caylee? Were you involved in the death of Caylee? It will be interesting to see how Casey Anthony responds.(From Stacey Newman, Nancy Grace Producer) 2 PM ET - Will Casey Anthony blame the so-called nanny Zenaida Gonzalez for the murder of 2 year old Caylee Anthony? The Zenaida Gonzalez connected to Sawgrass apartments, where tot mom claims she last saw Caylee, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Casey Anthony. As part of the civil lawsuit, Casey Anthony will be asked to answer a series of written questions, including do you know who killed Caylee? And do you admit the story you told law enforcement that Caylee was with someone named Zenaida Gonzalez the last time you saw her is not true? The 5th amendment may come into play, but the attorney for Zenaida Gonzalez feels confident the tot mom will be forced to answer the questions. Just hours after the trial judge rules in their favor, Casey Anthony's defense team finally searches the heavily wooded area where Caylee's remains discovered. Reports are it's the first of several searches the defense is planning. Did lead defense attorney Jose Baez actually slip Casey Anthony a memorial "Caylee" bracelet before Friday's hearing? According to WFTV, jail officials found the bracelet tucked inside one of the socks Baez dropped off for Casey Anthony along with the business suit she wore to court. Although the bracelet is made of rubber, it's still considered contraband and was confiscated. And the first official word on a public memorial for Caylee Anthony. First Baptist Church Orlando will be the venue for the public service, but still no specifics on a date or time. (From Stacey Newman, Nancy Grace Producer) Friday Jan. 30, 2009 4 PM ET - Just moments ago, a Florida judge shuts down the defense's motion seeking access to Texas-based Equusearch's records regarding their weeks long search for Caylee Anthony. (From Stacey Newman, Nancy Grace Producer) 11 AM ET - New rulings come down at today's hearing in the murder one trial of tot mom Casey Anthony. Anthony making the court appearance after a judge forces her to attend. And this time she gets out of the prison blues and into a business suit. The defense will now have access to the crime scene where Caylee's remains were discovered in a heavily wooded area near the Anthony home. But it looks like the state will stay on the case. The judge shuts down a defense motion to have prosecutors thrown off the case. More details to come. A source told WFTV reporter Kathi Belich that Casey's attorneys have been trying to market the photos to the media again. Jose Baez is hiring some very expensive experts to defend Casey on this first-degree murder charge. They are hiring nationally-known experts who don't come cheap. But WFTV's legal analyst, Bill Sheaffer, said Casey's efforts to possibly help pay for them by marketing photos to the media could backfire in the court of public opinion. There are reports that Casey Anthony sold endearing videos and photos of her daughter Caylee six months ago for almost $200,000. "It's a drop in the bucket, $200,000 in this case is a drop in the bucket when you take into consideration what Mr. Baez needs in order to devote his time and resources to this case," Sheaffer said (watch full interview). Sheaffer said that money could be gone or close to gone. He said attorney Jose Baez's fee alone will be six figures in a case like this and the total cost of Casey's defense could hit $1 million, especially because of the high-powered experts Baez has hired: Forensic expert Dr. Henry Lee, who helped get OJ Simpson acquitted, New York defense attorney Linda Kenney Baden, who represented rock and roll legend Phil Spector at his first murder trial that ended in a hung jury, and New York forensic expert Dr. Lawrence Kobilinsky. "I would say these experts run into the tens of thousands of dollars," Sheaffer said. The flat fees or hourly fees, Sheaffer said, could run from $500 to $750, plus expenses. But, Sheaffer said, selling her murdered daughter's photos could turn the public against Casey even more. Still, Casey is facing first-degree murder. "One is going to do what one has to do," Sheaffer said. Hiring heavy hitters from out of town may also backfire on Baez. Sheaffer said they bring some baggage, because of OJ for example, and Florida jurors might view them as outsiders. MORE STRANGERS GIVE CASEY MONEY Casey continues to be well-funded in jail. She had about $300 in her jail account Thursday and spent $12 this week on snacks and a drink. She also received another $75 from complete strangers living in Fort Lauderdale, California and Michigan. PRESS CORPS ADMITS "TODD BLACK" IS "GIL CABOT" The public relations spokesman for Casey's defense team finally admitted he's convicted felon Gil Cabot. A Press Corps Media release Thursday confirmed Cabot was one of several media contacts working under the name of Todd Black. Cabot was convicted for trying to extort Entertainment Tonight anchor Jann Carl by falsely claiming he had compromising photographs of her. Carl had previously turned down his offer to be her agent. PUBLIC MEMORIAL SERVICE SET FOR FEBRUARY 10 The attorney for Caylee Anthony's grandparents told Eyewitness News on Thursday that the public memorial service for Caylee would be held on the morning of Tuesday, February 10. The memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Orlando, attorney Brad Conway told Eyewitness News, and start at 10:00am. No cameras are allowed in the church, but WFTV.com expects to be able to provide a live video feed online of the service. Dr. David Uth, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Orlando, released the following statement Thursday: "I believe God placed First Baptist Church of Orlando here in Central Florida to make a difference in this community, and to love this community. We believe our purpose is to be a lighthouse, especially in difficult and dark times. One of those times is now as we have all been saddened by the death of Caylee Anthony. As a church, we want to provide hope, healing and the opportunity to experience God's love. We believe that hosting the service will give us the opportunity to minister to a family in need and to a community that is hurting because of the loss of this precious child." Seating for the public service will start at 9:00am. The church told Eyewitness News no bags, backpacks, purses, cell phones, still photo or video cameras will be permitted. There will be a strong security presence and attendees will have to pass through a metal detector. The service will be held in the church's 5,000-seat Worship Center. Caylee Anthony's remains were found in December in a wooded area less than a mile from her grandparent's home. Caylee's mother, Casey Anthony, remains in jail on first-degree murder charges in connection with Caylee's death. http://www.wftv.com/news/18651683/detail.html

Attorney Reads Casey Anthony Statement On Caylee Memorial Monday, February 9, 2009 – updated: 6:32 am EST February 10, 2009 ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Casey Anthony broke her silence Monday through her attorney, Jose Baez. She remains in jail, charged with her daughter Caylee's murder, but through her attorney Casey said she missed Caylee every minute, but wished her family wasn't holding such a public funeral Tuesday. "I miss Caylee every day and every minute of every day. I can't be there for Caylee's funeral, but some day I want to go and visit her grave and tell her how much I miss her," Baez read for Casey's statement. Casey was also pretty adamant that she didn't want Caylee's funeral to be public. "I allowed my parents to be in charge for the funeral for Caylee. I told them I wanted her buried in a casket and I wanted there to be a gravestone so I could go and visit her. I asked them if there could only be a private funeral for just the family," Baez read. Obviously, Casey's parents didn't follow her wishes, as the First Baptist Church of Orlando plans for thousands to attend the public service Tuesday at 10:00am. Casey made it clear, through her statement, that she wasn't happy about the decision. "I know they cremated her. I still don't want a public event with cameras and everybody around for Caylee's service, but I can't stop my parents from doing what they want. I truly hope that it will help them," Baez read. As of late Monday afternoon, the Orange County jail said, Casey has not requested permission to watch Caylee's funeral on TV Tuesday, but she can do so at any time. She would have to watch in the presence of a corrections officer. Eyewitness News has also learned she has a small radio that she may be able to use to listen to the memorial service. CONTROVERSIAL ORGANIZATION COULD PROFIT FROM MEMORIAL Hundreds are expected to attend Caylee's two-hour memorial Tuesday. Eyewitness News found out some of the groups the Anthonys are asking people to make donations to on behalf of Caylee have checkered pasts and questionable motives. WFTV reporter Kathi Belich was the first reporter to break the story about how the founder of the Kid Finders Network has a criminal past and the group is still on the donation list for Tuesday. Even though Kid Finders Network, out of Palm Beach County, has never found a missing child and even though Caylee has been found, they're still latched on to the Anthony family in Central Florida and the Anthony family has latched onto them. Two months after Caylee Marie Anthony's remains were found by a meter reader, less than a mile from her house, Kid Finders Network founder Dennis Milsteand and his wife Sherri were still in town, comforting Cindy Anthony the night George apparently attempted suicide. Kid Finders did not find Caylee, nor have they found any other missing child, possibly because their efforts largely consist of displaying a billboard bearing the photos of missing children. Even after Eyewitness News exposed Milstead's arrests, Cindy is asking for donations to the Kid Finders Network rather than sending flowers for Caylee's memorial service Tuesday. Milstead has been arrested for assault and for impersonating a police officer, claiming to be one and using a phony blue light. He uses a phony badge as Kid Finders' logo. The president of Crime Stoppers in south Florida got a restraining order against Milstead for demanding a 90-percent cut of donations he fraudulently solicited for Crime Stoppers by claiming to be an employee. After ending 2007 $37,000 in debt, Kid Finders is now asking for money for a home for six runaway teenagers. In every one of its goals, once again, is the interest in raising funds. The Kid Finders Network's latest IRS filing shows that it took in $23,000 in 2007, but spent $60,000. The only documents to account for the $60,000 were two receipts, one from Wal-Mart and one from a gas station, and both receipts were from 2006. Outrage over the Anthonys' support for the Kid Finders Network, and their decision to keep certain people from attending the service, has led to some boycotting the ceremony. California bounty hunter Leonard Padilla, who bonded Casey out of jail the first time, is holding his own memorial service at 10:00am at the scene where Caylee's remains were found and a push has started to send donations to EquuSearch rather than Kid Finders. http://www.wftv.com/news/18675718/detail.html

Report: Mom's fingerprints not on tape found on Caylee's skull Posted by Christopher Collette 3 hrs ago ORLANDO, Florida -- Sources told 10 Connects news partner WKMG Local 6 News Monday that no fingerprints were located on the duct tape found wrapped around the skull of Caylee Anthony. Hundreds of pages of additional documents are expected to be released in the case against the slain toddler's mother, Casey Anthony, as early as today. Anthony, 22, remains jailed on first-degree murder charges in her daughter's death. Caylee's remains were discovered in December in a wooded lot near the home she shared with her mother and grandparents. The girl's skull was wrapped in duct tape, and sources told Local 6 News that sheriff's investigators headed to the Anthony house the day the discovery was made, looking for evidence that might link Casey Anthony or items in the house to the crime scene. Sources said the soon-to-be released documents will show that investigators never found a duct tape roll at the home but did find a similar piece of tape on a gasoline can in the house. Sources also told Local 6 News that FBI lab tests reveal no fingerprints were found on the duct tape. Celebrity bounty hunter Leonard Padilla, who has been involved with the case since he bailed Casey Anthony out of jail, claimed the opposite last week on national TV. A tabloid magazine also reported that Casey Anthony's fingerprints were found on the tape. Sources inside Casey Anthony's defense team said they are "sick of Padilla's lies" and want him to "go away." http://www.tampabays10.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=100615
