Internet romance leads to sex assault charges 12/3/2005 NORTH SYRACUSE (AP) - State police charged a 22-year-old man with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old found early Friday in a hotel after a missing-child alert. Connor Izard of Clay was charged with rape and committing a sexual act, both felonies, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor. State Police Investigator Timothy Siddell said the 16-year-old Geneva girl met Izard on the Internet. The two talked online for a month before deciding to meet, he said. They went to the Knight's Inn in Liverpool and had plans to leave for New York City and "points unknown" after that, he said. Connor Izard of Henry Clay Boulevard has been indicted by an Onondaga County Grand Jury on charges of third degree rape, endangering the welfare of a child, and performing a criminal sexual act in the third degree. On December 1st, 2005, 16-year-old Patricia Lynn Visco went missing around 6 PM. She was found early the next day in a hotel in Salina with Izard. An Amber Alert was issued after Visco went missing. Visco has already pleaded guilty to falsely reporting an incident in the case. The judge in the case says the prosecution has agreed not to seek punitive damages, just a sentence of probation. Izzard was arraigned in the Town of Salina Court at about 7:30 Friday morning. He is being held on $50,000 bail. Syracuse Man Guilty of Sex Crime by Virgina Butler Published Jan 11, 2007 Felony rape charges against a Syracuse area man are dropped, but he was found guilty of sex crimes against a teenage girl he met over the internet. A judge found Connor Izard, 23, guilty on two counts of sexual misconduct and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. Police say Izard met Patricia Visco on the internet, and picked her up from her home in Geneva in December of 2005. An Amber Alert was issued.
