Coshocton Ohio man sentenced to 14 years
Christian Eckleberry is no name
unfamiliar with this group.
Hes been sitting in our county jail
since October of 2006 for violating
a young woman whos now 19. But
when the sexual abuse started she
was just 7.
It took courage for her to come forward
and try to protect another child. For her
the efforts to protect paid off.
As Christian Eckelberry from Obetz sat
in court he got to hear her and what his
damage to her was.
There is justice in this story and then
there is bitter sweet to this story.
The justice is that Eckelberry will serve 14
years consecutively. The irony of this and
end result to the bitter sweet is the fact
that due to the laws already in place at the
time of the incident Christian Eckelberry
will be protected from having to be at
best classified as an aggravated sexually
oriented offender. He will have to register
though for 10 years upon his release from
prison. And will be required to report to
officials for 5 years after he is released.
While Judge Evans (who himself has broken
the law in releaseing rapist early) sentenced
Christian Eckelberry, age 25, formerly of
4086 Garrard Drive, Obetz, Ohio, he stated
this factor to him,"What you've taken from the
victim is totally and absolutely irreplaceable."
To bad he can't seem to remember those words
when time to parole those he sentences
(this was proven by Cunninghams earlier release
before serving a mandatory sentence).
The victim who spoke stated this in her writings
to the court, " I have been scarred in many ways,"
"I learned about sex at an early age, not from
parents, and school, and not by my choice!"
Im sure Coshocton Tribune will have a report
so Ill post it after they do on who reported and
the story they wrote as well.
More updates are coming through from others
on this case as well.
Thank you for being here. I, too, like many of our members, am a survivor. I never said a word for 12 years. Its a big step to say "I was abused". Just always remember that you did NOTHING wrong. You are brave, you are strong but most of all you are a survivor>!! We are always here as an ear to listen or a shoulder to lean on. Welcome to FWTR and thank you for joining us. :) :hugs2:
Thank you. I don't know the story but Jessie will be in my prayers.
Jessica Lunsford was a bright and
beautiful little girl. She is why we
keep asking Ted to do what was
promised place House Bill 260 in
effect for Ohios children to be safe.
It is her legacy left after her life
was lost to a sexual offender/ as
I refer to all of them predator.
I guess one never knows who they
will effect with giving out a voice
for other's.
Good JOB Cadet Miller you saved
a child who might not been as lucky.
Ive survived all kinds of tragedy in
my life. I wore that word your so
wanting to carry GUILT. So let me
give you a gift that was given to me.
Its not much just some words I do
treasure. And I was reminded of that
today as I ate lunch and prepared
for Attorney General Mark Dann to
speak to thousands of us in the Two
Days In May Classes held every year.
Who was found Guilty of violating your
sacred place? He WAS.
Who SURVIVED those attacks?
YOU DID.
Who have you helped by stepping forward
and giving his actions a name for what he
has done to you?
MANY OTHERS.
And my friend who knows me not the final
part of the advise for you is this.
Surviving has left you with two choices in the
end result. Not to say it hasn't left you hurt in
other areas. But heres the thing its what and
how you use it that counts for others.
First choice sit and do nothing except, except he
was sentenced and will not harm another. OR..
Second choice do more to ensure it the SECRET
kept in the CLOSET in Coshocton STOPS.
Be the voice of those who are lost. Ive been
now as you can see ROARING. And I kept a
promise to Len Lacara that Id be like Rosa Parks
who stood her ground.
And well Im still here fighting for those like Marcus
Fiesel, who was mentioned in a class today. He now
gets to be a learning tool for others. I recently aligned
with Angels in Action, we helped pay for Bethany's
Funeral. She died in Newark at the hands of John
Cline.
Ive walked down our towns streets. Not for me but
those who fear being seen or found out. Believe me
when I tell you this,"It really isn't your fault."
And Dirty only plays meaning when it is a SECRET.
So your not that for sure. And therefor your not GUILTY
of being the VICTIM because you yourself chose to
SURVIVE. So give it (the guilt) back to him he earned it.
I won't say I know your pain of guilt or shame. We all
carry it differently when surviving being violated. I will
since your in my community help you survive. But you
have to attend the group meetings.
PM me and Ill tell you where they are now. See I won't
give that private matter out to everyone. But if you do
think you want to come to a Survivors Group let me
know my hands out. And with my group theres plenty
to do. We just volunteered to Parry Afats volunteer group
today.
Plus we have a National Block Watch March taking effect
May 11, 2007 in Zanesville. It starts on Schaum and is 11
blocks long and wide. I decided to ROAR for MIAH who
was abducted last month, raped, and left for dead in a ditch.
Along for those who have not yet been the VICTIM.
All to make a change for those needing it to be safer.
Its why I named my group the way I did.
Well I hope I hit home with you. I already sent you a how
do you do. Stay with us kid you'll learn something and
even use it after learning it to help others.
Congradulations your now on your road to healing. And
yes you got our groups attention. We're there for you
just ring us or PM one of us.
God Bless you for your unselfish gift to INNOCENCE now
not LOST to others unsuspecting.
