Dakota Fanning 'raped' in new film/graphic/help stop film
HOLLYWOOD VS. AMERICA Dakota Fanning 'raped' in new film North Carolina prosecutors 'aware' of 12-year-old girl's graphic scene © 2006 WorldNetDaily.com Dakota Fanning in 'War of the Worlds' (Paramount) Prosecutors in Wilmington, N.C., "are aware" of a scene for the movie "Hounddog" in which the character played by 12-year-old actress Dakota Fanning reportedly is violently raped, and say if an investigation is launched, authorities could consider sexual exploitation charges. The scene, widely reported on the Internet, is in the movie where Fanning plays the role of a "precocious, troubled girl (who) finds safe haven in the music and movement of Elvis Presley," according to Blue Line Radio, which monitors child-abuse allegations. Connie Jordan, a district attorney in Wilmington assigned to work with such complaints, said she could not at this time confirm a formal investigation into the rape scene. "I am aware of that situation," she told WorldNetDaily. "The charge that would potentially apply to the scenario would be sexual exploitation of a minor." She said statutory rape laws would require the actual assault, and her understanding was that any assault was simulated. Third-degree or second-degree sexual exploitation would involve having or trading child pornography, she said. But to make such a scene could be first-degree sexual exploitation of a child, a charge on the same level with armed robbery, she said. "That is to facilitate … sexual activity for the purpose of producing material that would contain child pornography," she said. Carla Roberts, who runs the Yahweh Center Children's Village for abused or neglected children in Wilmington, told WND she would have to wonder about the adults responsible for putting a child in such a position. And, she said, she also is concerned by the ramifications for the child to whom that would be done. Jordan said she just doesn't understand such scenes, now described in "a file on my desk." The movie is an independent that had to raise additional money when some initial investors pulled their support because of the rape scene. It is being assembled by writer-director Deborah Kampmeier. Her earlier work, "Virgin," was about a young girl who is raped, but doesn't remember the attack and believes she's carrying the Christ child. In "Hounddog," the 12-year-old Fanning plays 9-year-old Lewellen, who is told she must sing for concert tickets to hear Elvis. The script graphically describes her clothes dropping to the floor before she sings, and an assailant unzipping his jeans. Others in the production include Isabelle Fuhrman, Cody Hanford, David Morse, Christoph Sanders, Jody Thompson and Robin Wright Penn. According to an independent movie website, Kampmeier's "Virgin" was "profound and exquisitely melancholy" and was nominated for the John Cassavetes Award for the best feature made for under $500,000. Its story is about "Jessie," (Elizabeth Moss) who hides her suffering from being trapped by her family's conservative Baptists beliefs with liquor, kleptomania and drugs. She has a sexual encounter after a spell of drugs and liquor and finds she is pregnant, deciding that she is carrying the next Christ child. At that time, Kampmeier, who previously worked in the New York City theater industry, said she shot the film for $65,000 in 21 days. Kampmeier did not return a message WND left at her Full Moon Films office. World Entertainment News Network said the movie was a shocker for Fanning's fans. "She has shot child rape scenes and appears semi-naked," the network said. But it also said the actress' agent, Joy Osbrink, told the New York Daily News, fans shouldn't worry. "It's not just the rape scene – the whole story is challenging Dakota as an actress. And I've never been so proud of her in my life. I've seen the dailies, and in every scene she gets better and better." One crew member called the movie "dynamite" because of the scene, and said adult stars would have baulked at some of the situations. In 2002, Fanning worked with Steven Spielberg as the lead child in a science fiction miniseries and she also appeared in "Trapped," "Sweet Home Alabama," and "Hansel & Gretel." She later worked with Kurt Russell in "Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story," and Tom Cruise in "War of the Worlds." If you'd like to sound off on this issue, please take part in the WorldNetDaily poll. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have found out that any complaint or charges arising out of the making of the movie Hounddog must originate from the Wilmington, NC District Attorney's office headed by Mr. Ben David. I am greatly concerned about a movie entitled Hounddog. In this movie, Dakota Fanning, who is 12 years old, appears in several scenes wearing only panties, and is totally nude in other scenes. At one point, she struggles, fights and cries through a choreographed rape scene. These are descriptions I have read in news releases about the film. These scenes violate sexual exploitation and child protection laws and the rape scene violates laws regarding the use of a minor child in any depiction of engaging in sexual activity. I believe these are all federal offenses, but as this film was made in North Carolina, state laws may also apply, such as § 14‑190.16. First degree sexual exploitation of a minor. (a) Offense. – A person commits the offense of first degree sexual exploitation of a minor if, knowing the character or content of the material or performance, he: (4)Records, photographs, films, develops, or duplicates for sale or pecuniary gain material that contains a visual representation depicting a minor engaged in sexual activity. § 14‑190.17. Second degree sexual exploitation of a minor. (a) Offense. – A person commits the offense of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor if, knowing the character or content of the material, he: (1)Records, photographs, films, develops, or duplicates material that contains a visual representation of a minor engaged in sexual activity; or (2)Distributes, transports, exhibits, receives, sells, purchases, exchanges, or solicits material that contains a visual representation of a minor engaged in sexual activity. I hope that your office would consider taking the time to do a thorough investigation of everyone involved in making this film, from the cast, crew, producers, directors and financiers, all the way to Dakota Fanning's own parents for placing her in this position and transporting her across state lines to film this pornography. I certainly hope that your agency has the courage to enforce the laws concerning the protection of children, from exposure to and participation in, all forms of child porn, even when it's the film industry making the porn. I sincerely hope that you can bring all parties involved to justice and prevent this film from being released. Gaia and I have been doing research into this movie. They wrapped shooting July 20, 2006. We have been trying to figure out exactally who to complain to. Since we are not residents of NC,we are looking for other options.

I am very angry  I'm angry with the making of the movie, Hounddog, starring Dakota Fanning. This movie depicts the rape of and exploitation of a little girl and how she found a way to cope through music. It was filmed in NC, which has a law against the depiction of a minor child engaging in a sexual act, and from the articles and news stories, the rape scene is very graphic. There are also a number of scenes with her nude at time and wearing only underwear at times. Please contact all can and ask them to spread the word around to contact NC officials about bringing charges against the producers, crew and investors of this film and also Dakota's parents for allowing this to happen, under the law (NCGS 14-190.16 (a) (4)) which states that it shall be the First Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a serious Felony Offense in which records, photographs, films, develops, or duplicates for sale or pecuniary gain material that contains a visual representation depicting a minor engaged in sexual activity.

Dakota Fanning's parents chose to use and exploit her
Dakota Fanning's parents chose to use and exploit her for the sake of money and an Oscar. No doubt they will do the same with her little sister Elle when they get the chance. This has to be stopped. Who knows how far these parents will let others go with thier daughters for the right price. There are laws against what this film company has done and EVERYONE involved in making the film should be prosecuted. Currently, I'm told, the FBI is the agency responsible for conducting an investigation. Who knows if they are trying to enforce the child protection laws here, though! Please, everyone, contact everyone you know and ask them to contact the Wilmington, NC FBI office to voice their concern and demand the law be enforced. Everyone has certainly been covered!! :D Now lets see who actually has the guts to respond. Like I said to LWilson, I dont see how writer-director Deborah Kampmeier or Dakota's agent for that matter sleep at night. This is disgusting! But it also said the actress' agent, Joy Osbrink, told the New York Daily News, fans shouldn't worry. "It's not just the rape scene – the whole story is challenging Dakota as an actress. And I've never been so proud of her in my life. I've seen the dailies, and in every scene she gets better and better." Challenging her as an actress?? Shes 12 years old!! The only thing that should be challenging her at this age is algebra! You can bet your butt I will not watch any of this directors "movies". All she and the agent are are very well paid pimps!

copy of email I received: "FindElex.com" <admin@findelex.com> To: djkfilms@aol.com Subject: New Movie Date: Mon, 14 Aug 2006 13:28:44 -0500 My name is Anita Leiter. I am the founder for findelex.com. I received an email about this new movie "Hounddog" and was set back. I am a victim of molestation from the ages of 4-9. I have been this victim. Do I believe that the story needs to be told? YES! But not shown, in detail. Film makers all the time lets the watcher know what going to happen with out showing it. You have no idea the doors you are opening in this young girls life. She is only 12 years old and you revealing to her all these graphic situations of sex. Molesting her, taking her innocents away. I can't believe anyone would purposely do that to a child for all the world to see. Except someone that is sick in the head. You need to stop worrying about making the next box office movie and take a moment and think about that girl and what you are exposing her too. Her Innocents is already gone because you have already done the scene, but you can help by not printing it. By doing this at such a young age, you possible have cause a life time of exposer and possible her feeling like she is only good for sex. You are also feeding the mind of the child molestors and possible birthing some. They will be getting their high off of watching this sene. Some will wonder what it would be like to do it, and some little girl will suffer from it. Do the girls in the world a favor! Don't publish the sene. Then make sure you get that girl in cousceling and keep her there, no matter if she seems ok. You molested her, but you have a chance to make it right. Thanks, Anita Leiter

copy of email I received: From: "Isabelle Zehnder" <izehnder@comcast.net> To: djkfilms@aol.com Subject: Hounddog Date: Tue, 15 Aug 2006 02:17:49 +0000 My name is Isabelle Zehnder. I am the founder/president of the Coalition Against Institutionalized Child Abuse. My focus is helping prevent child abuse and exposing abuse once it has happened. I was appalled to learn you were taking an innocent 12-year old girl and exposing her to the world of sex. Putting her through a sexual scene such as the scene I have read about, exposing her body, is wrong. This child will never be the same and has lost some of her innocence and childhood. I am shocked her parents would allow this. I guess money does strange things to people. I would ask that you please remove that scene from your movie. There are other ways you can expose child abuse without graphically showing it happening to a child. Think about the millions of men and teens who will get off on this and who may actually get aroused. This could lead some to abusing more girls. The very thing you are trying to expose could back fire on you and you could be doing more harm than good. Children deserve to be children, please listen to all those who have written to voice their concerns. Ok I finally have it on the blog. Also to find National and Local Media you can use the following link. http://capwiz.com/stickers/?dir=congressorg&media=1 Emails can be sent through Congress.org once you locate the ones you want. Copy of Blog : 12 year old Dakota Fanning raped and semi nude in new film (Great Black and white photo of Dakota used here) You read that right. She is portraying a rape survivor as a child. Below is a link to articles and email campaigns to stop this from being shown. I know what your thinking, it's only acting. Tell that to the Sex Offenders and Predators who will flock to this movie to relive their own acts. It is child pornography clear and simple. Dakota is semi nude in very graphic rape scenes. What purpose will this serve? Her parents and agent feel it is great Oscar material and challenged her as an actress. Excuse me she is 12! Who is looking out for her best interest in this. Not only is this morally wrong it is illegal. The only difference between the scenes in this movie and the garbage on the internet is a large budget and a real star. I understand they made this "movie" to show you can survive rape, I applaud that. But there is no need for such intense, graphic scenes ( with a real child) to get the point across. They are exploiting a child pure and simple. We have sent information to all our members, affiliates, The White House and Attorney General. Won't you help us, along with many other sites, stop this miscarriage of justice. I for one am against censorship but this goes against everything I believe in. We are here to protect the children not put them in harm's way for the sake of "art". So please join us all in making our voices heard. Tell Hollywood and North Carolina's Attorney General we will not sit idly by and allow the law to be broken and a child abused. For all email campaigns and full background on this story click Here.
