It is much more than the rape scene, it is scenes of the child curiously witnessing her father masturbate, she has what I would call a graphic heavy petting session with a 10 year old boy. Remember Dakota pretends to be 9 years old inthe movie. She smokes and drinks beer in the movie. And prior to her being raped she dances naked for the man that rapes her. During the rape he calls her a "nigga lova" over and over again. A crime has been committed and authorities must act before all the evidence is destroyed. Thank you for giving me a place to shout! Marc Benson, a talk shot host on Wilmington's Blue Line Radio, says he's angry because the rape scene is too graphic for viewers. He says filmmakers may have broken the law because the scenes involving a minor are too explicit. Assistant District Attorney, Connie Jordan, says the law concerning sex and minors is not clear cut. She says she is now researching it to figure out whether the film falls under the statute and if filmmakers committed a crime. But so far, no one has come to the courthouse to file a complaint. This movie is not about artistic expression, not about music and, though it does delve into the subject of sexual child abuse, it has gone way beyond decency and is really nothing more than child pornography and sexual exploitation in under the guise of a story. In the course of filming this movie, 12 year old Dakota Fanning, Cody Hanford and Isabelle Fuhrman were sexually exploited many times over. (Exact ages of Cody Hanford and Isabelle Furhman are not readily available, but it is clear that they are preteens.) Please read this petition and add your voice to protect children in movies. Children are our most precious resources, because they are the future of this world. Parents are supposed to be the ones who protect theirchildren, but who will do it when the parents rent their children's innocence out for cash? The government steps in and lays down the laws to protect kids when their parents and family members won't or when someone outside the family has bad intentions towards them. But who will protect our kids when the government won't enforce their own laws and refuses to prosecute those who would steal theinnocence from a child for the sake of a dollar, or millions of dollars? Who will stand up for the children to stop them from being sexually exploited and used when the government ACTUALLY PAYS the film company to make this film about sexual exploitation and rape and racism? Everyone involved in the making of this film, Hounddog, TO INCLUDE the parents of child actors Dakota Fanning, Cody Hanford and Isabelle Furhman, their agents, all cast members, all crew members and all individuals, companies, corporations, organizations and/or consortiums or groups that provided funds, facilities or support for the purposeof filming this movie should be charged with 3 counts each of sexual exploitation of a minor for every single scene filmed in which one or more of these children appear semi-nude, nude or appear to be involved in a sexual situation. This should include scenes with the gratuitous showing of these children's undergarments. Everyone involved in making this film is guilty of sexually exploiting these three young children and should be brought to justice. The following is a brief description of some of the scenes in this movie. ***** Warning, this material is disturbing and is very graphic.***** This movie includes a scene of Dakota Fanning and Cody Hanford nude and "they begin touching each others bodies in an exploration of their sexes", Dakota witnessing David Morse "masturbating and she watches as he" completes the act, several scenes with Dakota wearing only underpants as David Morse watches her sleeping, her looking at herself in a mirror and more. Also scenes showing Dakota's, Isabelle's and Cody's underpants. In yet another scene, Dakota points a gun at Cody and Isabelle and orders them to strip naked or she will shoot them, then she forces them to stand against each other and wraps a large snake around them. In the most controversial scene of the movie, Dakota strips nude while a man, 18 year old Christoph Sanders, and Cody Hanford watch, then Dakota's character is violently raped by Christoph while Cody watches the whole rape scene "laughing hysterically". According to sources on set, the filming was frontally lit and Dakota was clearly visible as she was groped, licked, pawed and humped by an actor take, after take, after take, all the while Dakota's mom watched from a nearby monitor. The State of North Carolina, The United States of America and the United Nations have all passed laws intended to protect children from the sexual exploitation that this film, and it's script writer/director Deborah Kampmeier, is attempting to show on the big screen. -- Please be aware that, even if none of these scenes or any of the other scenes where these children are exploited ever makes it into the final cut of the film, just the fact that they were filmed or even rehearsed is a violation of law. The United Nations, particularly through its UNICEF Children's Agency condemns the sexual exploitation of children by adults as a violation of the Rights of the Child. Pedophilia is not recognized as a human nora civil right, nor entitled to any legal protection. Article 34 of this Convention states: States Parties undertake to protect the child from all forms of sexual exploitation and sexual abuse. Local Dakota Fanning film stirs controversy Aug 11, 2006 03:45 PM WILMINGTON -- Film industry sources say it could be the movie that wins Dakota Fanning an Oscar. Twelve-year-old Dakota Fanning is becoming one of the most well known actresses in Hollywood. In her latest film, "Hounddog," Dakota tackles some heavy issues by playing a 9-year-old girl who gets raped. Some critics feel the scene crosses an ethical line, and others go as far as to call the scene child pornography. Critics like Marc Benson, who co-hosts the Blue Line radio show says this scene is flat-out criminal. And even if it's a mainstream movie the simulated rape of a child is nothing more than pornography. "The Wilmington Police Department is looking into it, the district attorneys office is looking into it," Benson said. "We recently found out that, especially, the rape scene was shot in Brunswick County, and Sheriff Hewett over in Brunswick County has some people in his special crimes unit already looking into it." We found out that while local law enforcement agencies are aware of the film and the controversial child rape scene no one has filed a formal complaint and they are not actively investigating. The production coordinator for "Hounddog" says Dakota fanning was wearing a body suit during the entire rape scene and there was a child welfare worker on the set, along with Dakota's agent and her mother. Text books on North Carolina law say that context is important when it comes to defining child pornography. And if it is a serious, non-obscene drama where the sex act is only simulated then movie makers have some legal leeway. The movie makers say this film is about a little girl who overcomes what has happened to her in her life and the sex scene is an essential part of the movie, but by no means the entire focus. The production coordinator estimates the rape scene will only take up about a minute of the entire feature-length film.
