Hearing set for man in 9-year-old's death November 2, 2008 A criminal hearing has been set for one of two men accused of kidnapping, raping and killing a southwest Missouri girl. Christopher Collings is expected to appear in a Phelps County courtroom Monday for the proceeding. The case was moved to Phelps County from Barry County on a change of venue. Collings and the victim's stepfather David Spears, 25, of Stella, are charged with first-degree murder, forcible rape and first-degree statutory sodomy in connection with the kidnap, rape and murder of 9-year-old Rowan Ford. Collings' court date comes a year to the day after Ford was reported missing from her home. Her body was found several days later in McDonald County.
