Deputies Investigate Body Found October 7, 2006 DALLAS, Texas -- An investigation is under way after a woman's body was discovered in a wooded area, Dallas County Sheriffs said. Two pedestrians spotted the body Saturday evening in the 3400 block of Dowdy Ferry Road at the bridge over the Trinity River, investigators said. Investigators were unable to speculate on the cause of death, but said it looks like the body was dumped. Slain man identified, ID's sought for 2 other bodies 11:49 AM CDT on Monday, October 9, 2006 From Staff Reports A Dallas man who was killed during a weekend domestic dispute has been identified by the Dallas County medical examiner’s office. Arturo Lopez, 21, was shot to death around 9 p.m. Saturday when he approached a house in the 1100 block of South St. Augustine Road, north of Interstate 20, Senior Cpl. Janice Crowther said. A man inside the house shot and killed Lopez, then fled, police said. The medical examiner also was working to identify two women whose bodies were found over the weekend in separate incidents. One was found early Sunday near White Rock Lake’s docks in the 300 block of East Lawther Drive. The woman had suffered multiple bullet wounds. Another woman’s nude body was found late Saturday afternoon in the Trinity River bottoms by a family walking on the Dowdy Ferry Road bridge. Officials ID Bullet-Riddled Body POSTED: 4:55 pm CDT October 10, 2006 UPDATED: 5:14 pm CDT October 10, 2006 DALLAS -- The Dallas County Sheriff's Department has identified a bullet-riddled body found during the weekend at the bottom of a bridge that runs over the Trinity River located on Dowdy Ferry Road. Police said the body was that of Sonya Annetta Williams, 41. Autopsy results showed that Williams died of violent means and that someone threw her body over the bridge.
