Donald W. Thexton SO/Threat to kids - Hartford, WI
Released sex offender to live in Hartford area By DON BEHM dbehm@journalsentinel.com Posted: July 12, 2008 A registered sex offender to be released Tuesday from Jackson Correctional Institution in Black River Falls will live with relatives in the Town of Hartford, Washington County Sheriff Dale Schmidt said. Donald W. Thexton, 23, will reside at 3084 Rolaine Parkway. Sheriff’s deputies earlier this month informed neighbors of his pending move to the town, Schmidt said. Thexton has two separate convictions of second-degree sexual assault of a child and one conviction of third-degree sexual assault of a child for crimes committed in 2001, 2002 and 2003, court records show. His criminal history indicates Thexton remains a possible threat to children, Schmidt said. To reduce the threat to the public, the state Department of Corrections will closely monitor Thexton through 2018 and require him to wear a GPS tracking unit at all times. Among restrictions on his activities, Thexton will not be allowed in the Pike Lake Unit of the Kettle Moraine State Forest. The popular family recreational area is a short distance north of Rolaine Parkway. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=771186

Donald Thexton is a non-violent sex offender who, when he was a high school student, had young teen aged high school girlfriends. He is not dangerous. He is not a predator. He is not a child molester. He just had young teen aged high school girlfriends when he was 17 and 18 years old. He did not pray on children. There was no violence involved. I hope this will relieve some unnecessary fears. He is living with his grandparents and hopes to move on with his life as he has done much maturing during his time on the inside.

We only report what is written. Everyone is entitled to thier own opinions but we can say with absolute fact that the newspaper could not have printed untrue facts. The Wisconsin Sex Offender registry also states these facts. It is the law to notify when a sex offender moves into any neighborhood. Here is his registry page. http://offender.doc.state.wi.us/public/search/sor Please note that it says "Special Bulletin Notification" as stated a SBN is: Special Bulletin Notification (SBN) is an active, written notification process whereby law enforcement officials, in the county and areas of the offender's residence, employment or school enrollment, will receive detailed information from the DOC SORP on a specific offender prior to his/her scheduled release from confinement. Wisconsin law does not require special bulletin notifications for all offenders released from prison or a mental health facility. The overall purpose of the SBN is to highlight those cases that may pose a significant risk to the community. The SBN provides advanced notification to law enforcement officials, as well as information regarding the offender's offense pattern and specialized rules of supervision. In addition, the Bulletin serves as a mechanism to begin a local decision-making process to determine the level, scope and method of community notification, if determined necessary. http://offender.doc.state.wi.us/public/proginfo/communitynotification.jsp If you feel this info is wrong, contact the WI Sex Offender Registry thru their site or Call anytime (608)240-5830 Office hours 7:45-4:30 Mon-Fri Other times please leave a message

I am only reporting facts that have been omitted from your original post. Mr. Thexton has had more than one consensual encounter with his young teen aged high school girlfriends, which makes him a higher level sex offender. There is more to this than most people are willing to explore. By posting every SO that is released from prison, regardless of their actual crime, you are causing unnessary fear and it is making you and a lot of other people appear to be quite naive.

This was the only article that we received. Like I said you are entitled to your own opinion .....as a matter of fact we encourage free speech! We would never delete a post or anything just because we dont agree w/ the poster. As for posting every sex offender.....we dont. We post the ones that are STATED BY LAW to be a threat for whatever reason. You know, maybe this guy's charges werent that bad but thats not for us or you to say. He had his time in court and was sentenced accordingly. We obviously have no control over that. We have posted, and will continue to, post any person that is STATED BY LAW to be a threat to a child or another human being. We have that right just as you have the right to disagree. Like we said in the previous post, if you feel that this info is in error, PLEASE contact the WI Corrections department and have it changed. If and when this happens and he is removed from the registry, then and only then will he be removed from this site. Thank you.

I am not asking you to remove anything from your site, nor am I arguing certain facts written on the site. I am only contributing omitted information that may be of benefit to some people who frequent this site. "He had his time in court and was sentenced accordingly." It has been placed in the hands of the law. This should be sufficient.
