Email Example for Michigan's Amber Alert System
I received the cancellation notice on Nevaeh Angelina Bankston BUT due to Michigan’s Amber Alert System and Police Department pages being so inept and useless I can not find any further Information.. In fact the alert and cancellation came from a shoppers guide and NOT Michigan. During the last few days I have found so many inefficient, useless sites that are supposed to be for finding our children and families. So I have drawn up this email example for the Governor of Michigan asking to fix the flaws. I ask everyone to please send this and let them know their system is going to harm children not save them. More States to follow. Thank you. Dear Governor <Insert Name> I am writing to inform you of a Major problem with your states Amber Alert System. I am part of a group Nationwide that posts information on current and past missing persons. While searching your state I noticed that you do not have a section for local Missing Children Alerts. By that I mean there is a National Alert Ticker but not Local one. And when searching each Police Departments web page there is NO section for abducted/endangered or other missing persons press releases or Alerts. I implore you please look into this problem and repair it as quickly as possible. Having an Amber Plan in place is great. But if it doesn’t work why have it at all. Look at the case in Ohio of 19 month old Aliyah Starling Myrick. The Amber Alert was issued about six hours after the initial call came in. And no one in our network received that alert because their System is also flawed. She was murdered and left in a park to be found the next day by passersby. All these flaws are doing an injustice to the children it is meant to help. If I am wrong please direct me to the proper page. Our members have done exhaustive searches on Yahoo, Google and other search engines and came up empty handed. These are precious seconds that could be used searching for the endangered child or posting flyers. Too many of our children are being murdered because valuable information is not being given out or in a timely manner. I hope you will look into this complaint seriously and remedy the situation. Thank you for your time. Thank you Themis, I will send this out asap. I wonder if Ohio's amber alert system also is inept. This is where little 19 month old Aliyah Myrick went missing yesterday and was mudered. Apparently there was an amber alert, but I never knew about it and I know alot of others didn't either. Until it was too late. Aliyah Myrick

I have no clue how her name ended up at the bottom of that last post.

I sent mine already. This is pathetic. Each state receives money for thier Amber System and yes we have all 50 states compliant with an Amber Plan. But what good is a plan if they don't actually use it. It boggles the mind how these politicians say we are for the children and not all of them really are. It makes me sick but mostly MAD!! I am also sending this to Laura Bush. I'll let you know how it goes.
