I am writing you in reference to S. 1086 To improve the national program to register and monitor individuals who commit crimes against children or sex offenses. The Bill has been introduced by Senator Orrin G. Hatch and cosponsored by 50 other members. As you have heard 9 year old Jessica Marie Lunsford was ripped from her home on February 23,2005 by a convicted Sex Offender John Evander Couey. She was brutally raped and beaten only yards from her home for several days before being murdered and buried in the yard. Since this happened half a dozen other publicized cases about children being abducted and murdered have been seen Nationwide. More and more children are being attacked and murdered by these animals. The Bill in which Senator Hatch is introducing will call for stricter measures in tracking the offenders as well as stronger sentences for those who commit crimes against children.
As a member of The From Whispers to Roars .org Team I am writing to ask you to please support this Bill. On our team, we have banded together all across the country to fight for the rights of all children so no other parent will have to go through the loss and pain that Mr. Lunsford, Mr. Groene and the other parents have had to endure. If Laws such as these were in place Jessica, Dylan and the other children we have lost since might still be with us. There are several Bills before the Committee to make major changes in Sex Offender Registries, sentencing and monitoring offenders upon release. We need changes now. How many more innocent children must we lose before real changes can be made?
Please join us in our fight to save America's children from the hands of Sex Offenders/Predators.
