Gambling Machines Legalized NAACP Proposal Entered By CASOO
This was orginally posted May 30, 2007
Two things of major importance took
place in Coshocton, Ohio last night.
The Coshocton City Solicitor stated
to City Council last night he had
held off the gambling machines in
Coshocton for as long as he could.
He said it was up to Coshocton to
challenge legislation on the issue
and that by adopting the Ordinance
to allow them with expensive permit
rates and back ground checks it
would force the hands of legislators
to make appropriate changes.
We find that to be of obsurd thinking.
Usually when there is a proposal
brought forth to council it takes
3 seperate readings.
However in my home town if your about
to be sued as Coshocton is by Richard Pica
you get to bend the rules to cover assests
at risk. At least thats how we see it.
Four months it took Coshocton to Adopt an
Ordinance to protect our children. But for a
machine game causing conflict an Ordinance
is adopted ASAP.
How sad that we are ready to make our children
addicts to gambling.

In other business for council CASOO presented
a Proposal for the NAACP.
The issue CASOO covered for the NAACP was
on Equality Rights. We are looking to get a good
program adopted for a Human Relations Commission
to be formed by the Mayor and City Council.
After attending a meeting with Mayor Turner last
week and finding out no-one ever read or ruled on the
material presented by President Biggers of our area.
My thought is they marched into this office on the 15th
day of December 2004 and delivered this to be left on a
desk somewhere and not read. I could smell and see in
that office the exact thing CASOO is against. Predjudice
being used in Coshocton on the issues of EQUALITY in
how others should be treated. And thats why we took on
this issue.
Ive made it clear after sitting in a 38 minuet bogus
meeting based solely on an issue I highly oppose.
That I will continue to present this issue if it is not
adopted. Mayor Tim Turner said," Oh we know you
will."
They know this about CASOO because we are not
ones who give up easily.
I just spoke with Ken Smailes on the phone over the
Ordinance adopted last night. There is no age limit by
council placed for the age of children on playing a
permitted skilled game unless the state law covers it.
By the way Mark Dann did issue an investigation
as to these games being legal or not this week in Ohio.
CASOO just told WTNS News we will protest from the
aspect our children do not need to be taught how to
become addicted to gambling.
