HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Key provisions of legislation intended to strengthen Pennsylvania's child sex-abuse laws:
- Victims of child-sex abuse would get 20 additional years to file criminal complaints against their abusers. State law currently sets the victim's 30th birthday as the deadline; the bill would move that to the victim's 50th birthday.
- Employers or supervisors of alleged abusers could be held criminally responsible if they know of the abuse, but conceal it or fail to stop it.
- People who care for children would be required to report suspected abuse, even if the victim does not personally report it.
- Additional information on sex offenders would be posted on the state's Megan's Law Web site, including the complete addresses of all offenders and whether their victims were children. The site currently lists only the full addresses of offenders considered to be sexually violent predators.
