ROUND TWO, California Subject: Coverage of Araceli Ochoa and her 3 Abducted Children Body: Could you assist me please, On November 19, 2005 the Colton Police Department sent out a BOLO for 3 children abducted by the birth mother via Emergency Digital Information Service. Three days later I found an article on your station. But I have been unable to find anything since. If you have ever tried to find anything on the CHP web page on a missing/amber alert you may have noticed there is nothing but outcomes and usually weeks after they happen. And it is a giant run around to the point you give up and very useless. I have also searched the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children daily for a flyer on these children. There isn't one. How does the Police Department expect the public to assist in finding Missing/Abducted children if they don't publicize them. I have emailed the Governor about the sad state of California's Amber Alert System and Missing persons and never even received an auto reply let alone an acknowledgment saying it was being looked into. I work for a site that lists Amber/Missing/Endangered Persons among other things and we are very concerned about these 3 children. The alert the police did put out said" SUSPECT HAS EXTENSIVE HISTORY OF DRUGS AND ASSAULT, PHYSICALLY BROKE INTO THE RESIDENCE AND TOOK THE CHILDREN" If this is true why isn't more being done to locate them. One story in the media isn't going to save Angel, Jessica and Joey Gomez. Could you please look into this situation and see if there are any updates. And why there is no flyer or alert to the public to look for them. Thank you for your time, Themis www.fromwhisperstoroars.org

The Reporter appreciates every letter and commentary submission we receive. The Reporter would like to consider your letter for publication, but we must decline at this time. The Reporter has a strict policy against knowingly publishing what is called "astroturf." Your letter is astroturf, or a pre-written letter usually found on Internet sites intended for copying and mass distribution in order to give the potentially false impression of a grass-roots groundswell in support for an issue or candidate. The Reporter received at least one other letter exactly like yours and signed by another person. If you would like to express in your own words some of the same opinions found in the letter, The Reporter would gladly consider that letter for publication. But at this time we must decline to publish the letter currently in our files. Again, thank you for your recent letter, and I hope to hear back from you soon with a letter on the issue written in your own words. Second these are MY words. I co-own a web site for amoung many things Amber/Missing Alerts. We posted these children when we found them on the EDIS site. 3 days later there was ONE news story on them. So I sent out an email and posted it on our site. As for your comment "Your letter is astroturf, or a pre-written letter usually found on Internet sites intended for copying and mass distribution in order to give the potentially false impression of a grass-roots groundswell in support for an issue or candidate." After I wrote the email I did post it. To show members we are seriously trying to find information or an update on this family. And I for one am proud others sent out the email also hoping for help. Yes I am trying to get support for an issue, these 3 endangered children. There is no false impression it is real. They were abducted by a woman with serious mental problems. Search yourself and see if you can find anything on them. I spent over an hour emailing every paper in California begging for help. All I am asking is for someone in California to open there eyes and see that this is a major problem. Look at CHP Amber/Missing site. It is a disgrace. And yes your reply and mine will be posted on the internet. And so you know now that this isn't astroturf it is transplanted Tennessee Blue Grass. I await your reply. Perhaps that is a better route given that I have received two letters that are exactly the same, except for the signor at the bottom of the letter, and it is impossible at this point to determine which is the original author. Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Sincerely, Keith Michaud Date: Mon, 19 Dec 2005 From: "FromWhispersToRoars Admin" <fromwhisperstoroars@yahoo.com> Subject: Re: ATTN Keith Michaud,Coverage of Araceli Ochoa and her 3 Abducted Children To: "Letters" <letters@thereporter.com> Mr. Michaud, Thank you very much.
