Infant's body found in creek

Authorities are seeking the public's help in identifying the remains of an infant found in Muckalee Creek in Lee County, Ga., on Sept. 1.
A prison work crew discovered the body of the infant in a trash bag on the bank under the Muckalee Creek Bridge on Georgia Highway 118 east of Smithville. The body is that of a full-term African-American female infant.
Anyone with information on the possible identity of this baby girl or the mother is asked to contact the Georgia Bureau of Investigation at 229-931-2439; the Lee County Sheriff's Office, 229-759-6034; or the Smithville Police Department, 229-846-2202.
