Jane Doe December 4, 2005 Jefferson County AL.
Dixiana Road Body Unidentified Kate Mundy News42 WIAT Dec 16, 10:57 AM EST Jefferson County detectives have come up with this composite likeness of the unidentified woman. There is still no identity for a woman found dead in an abandoned mining area of Jefferson County. Investigators seem to have exhausted all leads. Jefferson County sheriff's investigators are calling this case "perplexing." They found the woman's body December 4th. The unidentified black female has a distinctive description, but so far, no one has provided information that can identify her. After two to three days exposed to the elements, someone finally called-in a tip leading investigators to an abandoned mining area. It's located in a remote section off Old Dixiana Road, near highway 79. The female was face down, covered in trash and had no obvious signs of what caused her death. Sergeant Randy Christian of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said, "In the state that she was in, according to the coroner, you would almost think it would have been natural causes, but then, you've got that she was left out in the area where people do illegal dumping, she was covered with debris and there's nothing natural about that." Detectives have come up with a composite likeness. She was somewhere between 30 and 45 years old, five-foot-eight and 270 pounds. She had two tattoos; "David" on her chest, "t-rol" on her backside. And on her left ring finger, she wore a ring. But even with all these clues, they still don't know who she is. "We've run her against all our missing persons locally, statewide, and nationally and didn't get any hits. We've run her fingerprints through the F.B.I.'s database and didn't get any links that way," said Christian. Investigators say the victim was not dressed for the cold weather and had no shoes, so they believe she was taken from an indoor location and dumped at the remote site. Her autopsy is not finished, so we still don't know how she died. For now investigators are trying to find out her name, and they're still hoping the anonymous tipster will contact them once again. http://www.wiat.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=WIAT%2FMGArticle%2FIAT_BasicArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1128768762053&path=
