Jane Doe November 16, 1987. Aiken County, South Carolina
The Doe Network: Case File 7UFSC Unidentified Black Female Discovered near Shaw's Creek off of Highway # 91 in Aiken County, South Carolina on November 16, 1987. The victim had been deceased for at least five years prior to discovery. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Vital Statistics Estimated age: Officials estimate the woman was 20-23 years old, although she could have been anywhere from 18 to 30. Approximate Height and Weight: 5'8 - 5'10; 150-160 pounds Distinguishing Characteristics: Lean build. A healed fracture was detected on the left side of her nose and a healed injury on her right knee. Dentals: She had a pronounced overbite. First molar missing from the right lower jaw which has a well healed socket; no dental restoration present; five teeth missing postmortem but have no damage to the sockets. Clothing: No clothing located. Other: Possibly Caribbean native. Her hair tested positive for cocaine. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Case History Because she was found close to the Edgefield County line, officials speculate she might have come from a migrant camp in peach country. Her murder may be related to several other unsolved cases of unidentified African-American women in Aiken County, including Jackie Council's homicide and Case File 46UFSC. All three victims were located unclothed and were approximately one-half a mile from each other. The imprisoned serial murderer Henry Louis Wallace has been questioned in each of their deaths, as he admitted to assaulting and murdering African-American women in the South Carolina region in the early 1990's. Wallace admitted to killing eleven North Carolina women and one South Carolina female. He has not been charged in any of the Aiken County cases. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Investigators If you have any information about this victim or the circumstances surrounding her death, please contact: Aiken County Coroner's Office 803-642-1740 All information may be submitted on an anonymous basis.
