Jersey Journal Update Tuesday, March 21, 2006 Body found in Hudson River A corpse was pulled out of the Hudson River near Exchange Place in Jersey City this evening, officials said, though there was no word on the man's identity or on what the cause of death might have been. Jersey City Fire Department spokesman Andrew Johnson said a call came in about 6 p.m. about a dead body floating in the river. The body, he said, was a man in his 30s or 40s wearing a black wind breaker. It was not bloated or discolored, meaning it may have been in the water for only a short time, Johnson said. The state regional medical examiner and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office were both notified, Johnson said. Neither police officials, who arrived at the scene along with the fire department, nor Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio, could be immediately reached for further comment.
