As some of you may or may not have been aware, up until yesterday, there was a Tri State manhunt for Ralph "Bucky" Phillips. I followed this closely because this was the area I live in. He was finally apprehended yesterday afternoon in Western NY near the NY/PA border. Anyway, He was on the run for shooting 3 police officers, 1 of whom tragically died from his injuries. I was kind of hoping that they would shoot the SOB down, but he surrendered peacefully. Now usually I abhor violence to other human beings but this man is a cop killer and that I cant take. Aside from the fact that my best friend's father (Themis) is a retired police officer and my aunt was also on the Philadelphia Police force, some one who kills a cop should be shot. What a lot of people dont realize is, police officers are just important as our troops overseas. They are our civilian servicemen here at home. They risk their lives every day to keep you and yours safe. People do b*tch and moan when they get pulled over or for getting flack for something. Its their job to do this and as much as some people complain, maybe they should realize that these men and women are keeping us safe, risking their lives and protecting this country just as much as our servicemen and women. And they deserve the same respect. Even though they dont get it. So the next time, you get pulled over for running a stop sign, or you pass a cop on the street, why dont you take a minute and say Thank you. Let them know that they are appreciated and supported too. :)
I was hoping he would be shot also
Run for president and I will vote for you. I watched it closely and felt then same. I was hoping he would be shot also! He is a low life coward. FUBAR

Fugitive 'Bucky' Phillips Gets Life Sentence
(AP) MAYVILLE, N.Y. An escaped convict who admitted killing a New York state trooper and wounding two others during the largest manhunt in state history was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without parole.
Ralph "Bucky" Phillips, 44, unsuccessfully asked to withdraw his guilty plea and then apologized to the troopers' families before being sentenced in Chautauqua County Court. He pleaded guilty last month to the aggravated murder of Trooper Joseph Longobardo and the attempted murder of Donald Baker Jr.
The officers were shot while staking out the rural home of Phillips' ex-girlfriend on Aug. 31 as part of a massive effort to capture Phillips following the June 10 shooting of another trooper during a traffic stop near Elmira.
While pleading guilty, Phillips told the judge he knew police had his relatives and friends under surveillance when he fired at Longobardo and Baker with a stolen high-powered rifle. He has since said in letters from jail that he believed the men he shot were bounty hunters.
Phillips was scheduled to be sentenced in Buffalo later Tuesday for escaping from an Erie County prison in April by using an industrial can opener to cut a hole in kitchen ceiling. He spent five months on the run before being captured just across the Pennsylvania line Sept. 8.
On Wednesday, he is scheduled to be sentenced in Chemung County, where he has pleaded guilty to attempted murder for shooting Trooper Sean Brown in June. Brown has since returned to duty.
