Kimberly Jacobs, Missing, August 21, 2008 HI.
Woman goes missing after upsetting day 08/27/08 By Gene Park gpark@starbulletin.com A Waikiki woman who was upset after a bad day last week has been missing since then from her Kalakaua Avenue apartment. Her husband of three years, financial planner Stan Jacobs, came home shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday and found his wife, Kimberly, upset. "She was tired and needed some rest, and a little bit down," the husband said. "I came back at 8, and she wasn't there." His wife had to deal with stress from back pains and a harassing tenant they have in one of their California properties, he said. Jacobs assumed his wife had gone to a friend's home nearby, as she usually did, and didn't begin to fear for her safety until after an off-island friend filed a missing-person's report with police. "I wasn't concerned the next day because we have many friends nearby," Jacobs said. He said his wife had left her cell phone, purse and other belongings at their home. He said he doesn't have reason to believe she left the state. Jacobs also said he doesn't believe his wife was attacked. Their home was not disturbed when he returned. "Kimberly is very powerful, forceful, decisive," Jacobs said. "I'm not even thinking that anything happened that somebody took her against her will. That's not realistic." The Jacobses have three children and a grandchild whom she cared for constantly, Jacobs said. Police said Kimberly Jacobs has a distinctive limp. Her husband described her right foot as being slightly bent in and should be visible since she usually wears slippers or sandals. She is Caucasian, has brown hair and brown eyes, is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 808-955-8300 or *CRIME on a cell phone. "Just let us know you're OK," Jacobs said in a message to his wife. "The baby's asking for tutu all the time. She needs tutu. Everybody loves you." http://starbulletin.com/2008/08/27/news/story06.html

Missing woman's husband makes a passionate plea Posted: Aug 26, 2008 11:42 PM EDT Updated: Aug 27, 2008 01:28 AM EDT By Leland Kim DOWNTOWN HONOLULU (KHNL) - The husband of a missing Waikiki woman made a passionate plea Tuesday morning. He's asking for the public's help to find his wife. Kimberly Jacobs has been missing since late last week. At this point, the police aren't suspecting foul play. Her husband Stan says this is very unlike her to disappear for days without telling him, and just wants his wife back home safe and sound. Kimberly Jacobs is an outgoing wife, mother and grandmother. The 47-year-old has been missing since Thursday. "I don't know what happened," said Stan Jacobs, her husband. "It doesn't make sense. So I would like everybody's help." Stan Jacobs says she was tired and needed some rest. So, he went to a condo board meeting by himself. "And I came back up at 8 o'clock and she wasn't there," he said. "And I thought she had gone some place close. We have a lot of friends close by, so I wasn't concerned really." She hasn't been seen since then. Her purse, keys, and other belongings were left behind. Stan Jacobs says she can't go very far, because she walks with a limp. "People look at her foot, that's when they'd be able to see that it's bent in," he said. "It's bent in this way, and she'd always wear sandals so it's not hidden." Before she disappeared, she was dealing with back problems, a leak in her condo, and an unruly tenant who lives in her property on the mainland. "It's not that any one of those was major, but all of it together was a lot to deal with," said Stan Jacobs. Kimberly Jacobs has been missing for more than four days now. With each passing day, her family and friends -- especially her two-year-old granddaughter -- miss her more and more. "They all love you," said Stan Jacobs. "Everybody loves you. The baby's been asking for tutu all the time, She needs tutu. Everybody loves you and your smile lights the world for everybody around you." Hoping a light helps her find her way home. Kimberly Jacobs is about 5-feet, 4-inches tall, and weighs about 130 pounds. If you have any information about her, you're encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on your cell phone. http://www.khnl.com/Global/story.asp?S=8906215

Waikiki woman still missing after 10 months Jun 24, 2009 WAIKIKI (KHNL) - An Oahu woman's missing persons case has gone cold, nearly a year after her disappearance. But her husband holds out hope she will return. A beautiful day brings many out to the ocean. But for Stan Jacobs, even this scenic setting cannot wash away the painful reality that his wife is still missing. "Its difficult to spend anytime by myself, cause the memories of Kimberly come flooding in," said Jacobs. Especially at the Elks Club, which was a favorite hangout for the couple. "We'd sit out here on the lanai overlooking the ocean and hug. Kimberly loves the ocean, she would go out for swims from here. She also made it the spot to bring our granddaughter." But 10 months ago, Kimberly vanished from their Waikiki apartment, without a trace. "All of Kimberly's stuff was in the house, all of her stuff was here, her cell phone, her passport, credit cards and cash." For Stan, the only explanation for Kimberly's disappearance is tied to the ocean she loves so much. "For her to have left this island, was for her to have gotten on a sailboat." Numerous searches turned up nothing of the 47 year old woman who walks with a limp. As days without Kimberly stretched into weeks then months, some turned their suspicion to Stan for the disappearance. A suspicion he understands. "I'd seen the same TV movie of the week that everybody else did - that the spouse did it. And there is a statistical reason for that. The only two people in the world who know I didn't do anything to Kimberly are Kimberly and me" Instead of dwelling on the dark memory of her disappearance, Stan is instead, trying to focus on an important day in Kimberly's life. "June 30th is Kimberly's birthday - she'll be 48. We're inviting a bunch of people here to the Elks Club to commemorate her birthday and get the word out that she is still missing.." Stan says Kimberly used to celebrate her birthday not just on the day but for the entire month of June. If you have an information on this missing persons case -- give Crimestoppers a call at 808-529-3950. http://www.khnl.com/Global/story.asp?S=10584495

Missing Woman Honored in Waikiki Written by KGMB9 News - news@kgmb9.com June 30, 2009 11:05 PM A crowd gathered in Waikiki Tuesday evening to celebrate the birthday of a woman who disappeared 10 months ago. Kimberly Day Jacobs was last seen in August 2008 on the beach. A few hours ago, family and friends gathered to celebrate her 48th birthday. After a few prayers and speeches, they released 50 colored homing pigeons to help Kimberly find her way home. But they still need your help. "Be aware, lookout, better to call in and it not be her, than not call in and it be her," said Kimberly's husband Stan Jacobs. If you have any information on the whereabouts of Kimberly Jacobs, call the Honolulu Police. http://kgmb9.com/main/content/view/18764/40/
