ANDERSON, S.C. - A woman whose son died at the hands of an abusive boyfriend four years ago has been beaten to death by her current boyfriend, police say.
Carmencita Turman, 28, died from a brain injury Sunday, a day after she was found unconscious in the home she shared with her boyfriend, Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore said.
The boyfriend admitted to beating Turman after an argument, but investigators haven't determined what the couple were fighting about, Anderson Police spokeswoman Linda Dudley said.
Rodney Lee Thompson, 36, was charged with murder, authorities said.
The couple had lived together for two years, Dudley said.
In June 2002, Turman's 3-year-old son Keyondez Draqua Turman, was beaten, shaken and stomped, his body dumped in the woods less than a quarter-mile from his home.
Carmencita Turman's boyfriend at the time, Reco Arlando Hill, pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced in life in prison.
