Police: Baby, Mother, Her Boyfriend Shot By Child's Dad 24-Year-Old Mother Dies; Baby Critical POSTED: 6:12 am CST January 2, 2007 UPDATED: 7:32 am CST January 2, 2007 JOLIET, Ill. -- Authorities said a Joliet man broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend Monday and fatally shot her and wounded their 1-year-old daughter and the woman's boyfriend. Police said 26-year-old Jaime Casillas is charged with murder in the death of 24-year-old Brenda Greenwood. He is also charged with two counts of attempted murder, accused of shooting 1-year-old Mireya Casillas, his daughter, and 24-year-old Merced Costilla. Deputy Chief Pat Kerr said Casillas and Greenwood had fought over the child. He said Greenwood got a protective order against Casillas last week. On Tuesday morning, the baby was in critical but stable condition at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood. Casillas is in custody at the Will County Jail.
