Man Robs Bank, Then Sat Down to Wait For Police
Alleged Bank Robber Waits For Police After Crime Dye Pack Explodes In Police Cruiser POSTED: 6:58 pm EDT May 2, 2006 UPDATED: 7:16 pm EDT May 2, 2006 COLUMBUS, Ohio -- A suspected bank robber made it easy for police to catch him, officials said. The incident began at the Fifth Third Bank on West Broad Street at about 3:15 p.m., NBC 4 reported. Investigators said a man handed a note to a teller demanding money. Although no weapon was observed, the teller gave the robber money from her drawer, including a dye pack. After getting the cash, the man simply sat down on a chair in the bank and waited to be arrested. When police arrived, officers arrested 62-year-old Timothy Bowers.
