Marquis Blanchard kidnapped ex-girlfriend shot her & sel Kidnapping Suspect Apparently Shot Self
A case involving a reported kidnapping has taken a strange turn. Savannah-Chatham police say 25-year-old Marquis Blanchard kidnapped his ex-girlfriend, Andrea Harris, from her house about 9pm Tuesday night. A short time later, she jumped out of the car and they say he ran her over with her own car, then put her in the back.
Near 68th and Habersham Streets, Harris tried to escape again and police say Blanchard shot her in the back and left her on the side of the road. A passing motorist drove her to the hospital.
Police found Blanchard in a house on Weldon Street about 9:30am yesterday morning, suffering from what they say is a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Police say he has a history of stalking and domestic violence against Harris. He will be arrested when he's released from the hospital.
