National Family Law Reform Conference Friday, September 15, 2006 - Saturday, September 16, 2006 Location: Crystal Gateway Marriott National Family Law Reform Conference Crystal Gateway Marriott Alexandria, Va (Washington, DC) September 15 - 16, 2006 Make plans now to attend the National Family Law Reform Conference at the beautiful Crystal Gateway Marriott in Alexandria, Va. just outside the nation's capitol in Washington, DC. This conference is for advocates, academics, activists and attorneys, anyone who is interested in Family Law Reform and Shared Parenting. Family Law touches every American's life. Family law is on the front pages every day. Family law is wreaking havoc with our society, our Constitution, and our children. Divorce, custody, child abuse, domestic violence and other issues - every American knows someone whose family and life have been turned upside down by the workings of family law. This conference will go beyond the cliches about "ugly divorce" and "nasty custody battle." ACFC, with its participants and cosponsors will provide a critical and candid look at the issue of family law and the steps needed to reign in this behemoth which threatens the stability of every family in America today. Conference participants and speakers are coming from every segment of our society for one purpose.....To develop and implement action plans for Family Law Reform. We will hear leading scholars from fields other than those that dominate family law and family policy. You will come away with invaluable tools, contacts, and concrete steps to implement change and put family law reform at the center of your community and state agenda. Our issues are drawing the attention of a number of organizations and leaders from various sectors. ACFC has been working hard to build coalitions with organizations interested in our issues. This is your opportunity to meet other people and organizations interested in family law reform and shared parenting. This is NOT another 'preach to the choir' event. Take a look at a few of the confirmed speakers and endorsers of this event. Phyllis Schlafly and Eagle Forum - Phyllis Schlafly is one of the nation's leading proponents of Shared Parenting and family law reform. Mrs. Schlafly devotes much of her time and considerable influence to advocating change in the family courts of America. Mrs. Schlafly has been named one the 100 most influential women in history by the Washington Times. Dr. Stephen Baskerville, President ACFC - No one has brought greater attention to the plight of divorced fathers than Dr. Baskerville. His more than 50 articles in both scholarly and popular publications have earned him well deserved recognition as a leading authority on the family courts. William Murray, President - Religious Freedom Coalition - William J. Murray is the chairman of the Religious Freedom Action Coalition. For more than two decades, he and the FRAC have been at the forefront of social reform and prominent in reaching out to persecuted Christians and victims of communism and other repressive governments worldwide. Mr. McManus is also a former Time magazine correspondent and has written a weekly syndicated column, Ethics & Religion for 25 years.
