Newark Man Arrested After Mom Beaten And Baby Snatched
Police arrested a man suspected of taking a baby, after beating its mother on Wednesday. Brett L. Johnson,20, made no statements to Newark police when they arrested him after neighbors identified him as the man who broke into the house, and took the baby. Court records state Johnson is the babys father. Johnson was charged with aggravated burglary, a first degree felony, and a Licking County grand jury will consider additional charges of misdemeanor domestic violence, and burglary. He appeared in Licking MunicipalCourt before Judge Higgins, for a bond hearing Higgins set his bond at $50,000.00. The case will be heard next week by a grand jury for possible indictment.
