Newborn Baby Found -Garland Texas - Parents Sought
Baby found in restroom at fast food spot 11:42 AM CDT on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 From Staff Reports A newborn baby was found in a Garland fast food restaurant’s restroom on Tuesday, police said. Infant cries echoed through the Jack in the Box restaurant in the 4000 block of Bobtown Road about 4:30 p.m., assistant manager Sam Dennaoui said. When he went to investigate, he found the infant lying on the floor next to a toilet. He was wrapped in two blankets, one white, the other beige. "He was fine; he was just crying, like babies do," Mr. Dennaoui said. "He needed his mama." Mr. Dennaoui scooped up the child, whom he estimated to be a week or two old, and carried him into the office. He handed him to a female employee while he called police. "The little guy quieted right down," he said. "No more crying at all. He just needed some attention." The infant was taken by ambulance to Children’s Medical Center Dallas, where it was found to be in good health. Witnesses saw a young man and a young woman enter the restaurant moments earlier. The woman, who was pushing a baby stroller, went to the women’s room and then left with the man several minutes later, police said. Garland police Youth Crimes Unit detectives are currently following several leads, but would like the public’s assistance. Anyone with information should call 972-205-2064.
