Newborn Baby on Life Support Syracuse Police say an 18 year old father put his baby in critical condition. One month old Christiona Shelley is on life support at University Hospital as of Friday night. Police say her father, Christopher Shelley, beat her when she wouldn't stop crying. The baby's mother, Stephanie Woods, and other family memers held a vigil outside the hopsital Friday night. The family isn't holding out much hope for the little girl. Christiona's grandmother says half her brain is damaged. Beaten Baby Upgraded to Serious Condition Five week old Christiona Shelley has been upgraded to serious condition. Police believe her father, 18 year old Christopher Shelley hit his daughter repeatedly in the head when she wouldn't stop crying. The infant suffered severe head trauma. Beaten Baby's Condition Improves Feb 13, 2007 - An infant allegedly severly beaten by her father earlier this month continues to improve. 7 week-old Christiona Shelley is now listed in fair condition at University Hospital. Her family intially thought they would have to pull her off life support. Police say the baby's father, 18 year-old Christopher Shelley admits he punched her in the head because she wouldn't stop crying.
