Due to an overwhelming response to our recent email asking you to send letters and faxes requesting that Pepper Eren NOT be paroled after serving only one year for neglect leading to the death of her son, Logan Goodall, we have designed an on-line petition for your convenience. The Parole Board has changed the due date to Friday, January 12, 2007 (this Friday). Please sign our petition and forward to everyone you know who is as outraged over the possible parole of Pepper Eren as we are. Thank you to everyone who signed our petition and sent letters to the Parole Board in an attempt to keep Logan Goodall's mother, Pepper Eren, from being paroled after serving only one year for neglect leading to the death of her son. YOUR VOICE WAS HEARD!!! Our petition with more than 1000 signatures was presented to the West Virginia Parole Board on Friday, January 12th, and on Wednesday, January 17th Pepper Eren was denied parole! Michael Merrifield, the person accused of the brutal beatings and sexual assault and murder of Logan, will go to trial in April. Our hope is that he will be found guilty and sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole. Please plan to attend the trial if you can. We will keep you updated as it progresses. West Virginians Against Abuse is once again asking the parole board to DENY PAROLEfor Pepper Eren, mother of 2-year old Logan Goodall who was brutally beaten, sexually abused and murdered. After serving only two years of a one to 10 year sentence for child neglect leading to the death of her 2-year-old son, Pepper Eren is eligible for parole. As you remember, Pepper was permitted to plea to a lesser sentence in exchange for testimony against her then-boyfriend, Mike Merrifield. Merrifield has been arrested for the death of Logan and will go on trial in January. Pepper was given a 1 to 10 year sentence and is eligible for parole each January. Last year West Virginians Against Abuse presented a petition with more than 1000 signatures asking the parole board to DENY parole for Pepper Eren. We believe that two years is NOT a just sentence for allowing her baby to suffer and die. The abuse that he endured is unimaginable. Visit our website to read his story.
