Police Ask For Help Finding Serial Rapist,COLUMBUS, Ohio
Police Ask For Help Finding Serial Rapist Tuesday, Oct 28, 2008 - 11:59 AM Updated: 04:39 PM COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Police are asking for help finding a suspected serial rapist who has attacked six women since June 4, 2008. According to Columbus police, investigators believe the same man is responsible for the attacks ranging from sexual assaults to rape that occurred in the north, northwest and west sides of Columbus, NBC 4's Mike Bowersock reported. Police said they believe the man is stalking his victims, learning their living habits and then attacking them. Five of the victims were single women living alone, while one of the victims was attacked while her husband was at work overnight. Columbus police Sgt. David Pelfrey said most of the women were in their early 20s, but one of them was 46 years old. In four of the six assaults, the suspect broke into homes, while in the other two assaults, the victims had left their doors unlocked. In one incident, the suspect was able to break in by reaching into her home through a mail slot. There is no description of the suspect available because in each attack, he wore a hat and bandana, covering his face. The suspect also covers the faces of the women so they aren't able to get a good look at his face. Police have released photos of the suspect taken from ATMs where he used the victims' bank cards. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 614-645-2437 or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-645-TIPS. http://www.nbc4i.com/midwest/cmh/news.apx.-content-articles-CMH-2008-10-28-0023.html
