Police Seek Assistance To Identify Abandoned Newborn Authorities Look For Baby's Mother POSTED: 3:11 pm EST February 1, 2007 UPDATED: 9:56 pm EST February 1, 2007 SUITLAND, Md. -- Prince Georges County police are asking for the public's help in identifying a newborn baby abandoned on Wednesday in Suitland. Authorities said that they were called to an apartment complex in the 3500 block of Silver Park Drive at about 3:30 a.m. They said a couple reported hearing the baby crying and opened their door to find the baby in the hallway wrapped in a beach towel. The baby was taken to an area hospital. Police said she is OK. Police are searching for the infant's mother because she may be in need of medical attention. Authorities said the infant is about 3 to 5 days old. She was wearing a pink and white one-piece outfit. The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the baby or her parents is asked to call Prince George’s County police at 301-772-4710.
