Pasco Sheriff's Office to beef up searches for missing kids
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office soon will be using new high-tech, high-powered equipment in the effort to find missing and abducted children.
At a morning press conference, the agency's Missing Abducted Child Team will unveil an all-terrain 6x6 vehicle "capable of covering the worst terrain and wooded areas," officials said.
The MAC unit will also demonstrate upgraded technical capabilities on the new Pasco Sheriff's Office Web site. Deputies say the boost in technology will help the press and the public access information, such as pictures and video, when children go missing.
Sheriff's officials the new 6x6 vehicle to be used by the MAC team was funded by donations.
