Prosecutor Charged With Walking Around Naked POSTED: 2:20 pm EDT October 11, 2006 UPDATED: 2:33 pm EDT October 11, 2006 HAMILTON, Ohio -- Rather than a business suit, an Ohio prosecutor was allegedly walking around a government building in his birthday suit. So now he's the one being prosecuted. Scott Blauvelt, 35, was arrested Monday. He was released from jail and awaits a hearing in Hamilton Municipal Court, where he usually works. A guard keeping an eye on a security camera told authorities he saw it all. And according to the sheriff's office, that wasn't the first time. Officials said that the night before, Blauvelt was also caught by the camera leaving nothing to the imagination. Sheriff's Maj. Anthony Dwyer in Hamilton, near Cincinnati, said investigators don't know what would have led Blauvelt to do that. No one else was around at the time. Blauvelt's lawyer, Michael Gmoser, said the prosecutor suffers from bipolar disease, takes medication for seizures after being seriously hurt in a car accident last year, and has been under added stress since his wife recently miscarried. Scott Blauvelt was charged with two counts of indecent exposure after security cameras captured him walking around nude in early October. The law director wrote in the disciplinary paperwork to Blauvelt, "The behavior and acts committed by you have affected the credibility of this office and all of its employees. The damage done is irreparable, so too perhaps is the damage to you personally." Also in the termination documents released Wednesday, Blauvelt admitted to investigators that he had "been doing similar things for about the past five years." His attorney said the naked walks around the building are a reaction to a medication Blauvelt takes for mental illness and a brain injury he suffered from a car accident. Authorities said he was found naked at the scene of the car crash.
