REFUSE RICHARD LINDROTH'S plea bargain - WVARichard Lindroth, a 28-year-old South Charleston (Kanawha County) man, pled guilty to severely injuring his girlfriend’s daughter during an attack as her mother slept. The state medical examiner described it as “an extremely violent attack". According to Prosecutor Teresa Tarr, “the girl was beaten on the face and thighs so badly that she was unrecognizable." A doctor noted that the baby had massive bruising, swelling, cigarette lighter burns on her thighs and hair loss that was consistent with someone pullilng it out. The girl suffered a brain injury that could cause significant long-term brain damage.
Lindroth was initially indicted on felony charges of child abuse causing bodily injury, child abuse causing substantial risk of serious bodily injury and malicious wounding. HOWEVER, on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 Lindroth pled guilty before Kanawha Circuit Judge Paul Zakaib to a LESSER FELONY COUNT of unlawful wounding, in order to have his other charges dismissed! He could face only 1-5 years in prison when he is sentenced on November 26, 2007. He is currently on home confinement!
