Report shows Officer was drunk in deadly crash
The autopsy report came in late
Friday on those involved in this
very deadly accident.
Trooper Risners blood alcohol
content was 0.08, when the
crash occured.
Sgt. Dale Holcomb and the passenger
of the truck that burned upon impact,
Lori Smith were not intoxicated upon
investigation.
Srgt. Holcomb was from Crooksville, Ohio
and Lori Smith was from Gallipolis, Ohio.
Loris vehicle was going 10 to 20 miles per
hour, while the Officials vehicle was traveling
at a rate of speed of 60-71 mph upon impact.
It is believed that they were headed to help
another officer off duty, who was headed to
a near by hospital with an infant in disstress.
Lt. Col. William Costas says," To put it mildly
this is a devastating event to Highway Patrol
and Law Enforcement.
Smiths blood levels showed traces of marijuana,
but none above the level that would be considered
intoxicated while operating a vehicle.
