Ronald William Collins - Removed GPS/Absconded Salem, ORChild sex abuser on loose in Marion County
SALEM (AP) — Authorities are looking for a 62-year-old sex offender who was released from prison in June but cut the monitoring device from his ankle and dropped out of sight.
He is
Ronald William Collins. The Marion County sheriff’s department says he has a history of sexually abusing boys he knows.
The Oregon parole board has designated Collins a sexually violent sex offender.
He was convicted of sodomy and sex abuse in 1995 and sentenced to 13 years.
After his release, he was supposed to wear a 24-hour monitoring device with GPS technology. He was last known to be in Salem on August 26.
He is described as white, 6-foot-2 and 168 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
