A residential sex offender ordinance has passed in the city of Coshocton.
The ordinance was adopted Monday night at a city council meeting.
According to L. Wilson, the founder of Citizens Against Sexually Oriented Offenders (CASO), council members passed a measure to keep registerd sex offenders from residing 1,000 feet from state licensed day care centers, pre-schools, public parks and public pools.
Wilson says some amendments were also added to the ordinance and two other area communities are considering adopting these residential rules for sex offenders.
Currently talks are underway in Warsaw and West Lafayette to adopt the ordinance.
Just last month Zanesville City Council passed the same ordinance. Council is now in the process of drawing up a protective zone to find out if any offenders live in the designated protected areas.

Thank you
If you have been wondering why my writing
has slowed down it is because Ive been in
poor health, but I am back on line once again.
And I am proud to say the hard work has now
started to pay off.
Don't anyone think that because I am sick Ive
stopped the battle, cause Ive been working on
a few things while I have been down sick.
We are holding a four county banquet, and we
have invited Zack Space. while I found it to be
disheartening of Fohley, and even more I have
found it disturbing to find that he payed no heed
to his own words where children were concerned,
I had the chance to learn my ordinance is hitting
or I should say getting lots of attention from the
ones I wanted it to like Zack. Hmmm and Lacara
called me a thorny issue last year, guess Ive turned
into a rose huh you two.
:D Welcome back LWilson and glad to hear your feeling better!! :D

iately after Mondays Coshocton
City Council meeting was the
Citizens Against Sexually
Oriented Offenders Group.
An ordinance prohibiting
registered sex offenders from
residing within 1,000 feet of a
school's premises, preschool,
state licensed day care, public
park, public library, public pool,
or city owned park and playground
that is located within City Limits
of Coshocton, passed it's second

"We are a group that is here to protect
children who have been a victim in the
past", CASOO's Earl Snyder said," We
just want a safe haven for those people
to live."
CASOO presented an ordinance similar
that read 2,500 feet, before readdressing
the ordinance after it was tabled, CASOO
resubmitted the ordinance with a change
footage of 1,000 feet and changed nothing
else about it.
According to Snyder there is 48 registered
sexual offenders in Coshocton County, and
25 of those reside in the city limits.
