Should All Sex Offenders Have to Register?
Another opinion brought up is that not all sex offenders are equal.. That many do not re offend and shouldn’t be punished by having to register on sex offender registry’s. YES!! You do the crime, you do the time!! A man shoots another man and kills him. Serves 20 years and gets out for whatever idiotic reason. Since his jail sentence is complete, does that mean he should no longer be considered a murderer? NO!! Once a scum sucking, bottom feeding killer, whether it be of body, mind, innocence, or sanity, ALWAYS a killer. A sex offender murders the innocence and mental health of his/her victims. Same difference. Sex offender today, sex offender for the rest of your miserable life!
My opinion is this, Yes an offender should register, however, based on the nature of the offense should be given a time frame on which to base the length they have to register. Some do not become repeat offenders, some do. I can agree that there are those out there who were young and ignorant. It should be like a probation period, of course my suggestion would be not informing the offender of the limit, therefore they can't just wait out the period then victimize again. And as I said before, the offender "probation" period would go based by the nature of offense.
Yes, they need to register! Absolutely! I do however feel they should reclassify some of the offenders. Like the older teenage boys who dated a younger teenager who are on the list for being 18 or 19 and the girl is just under that. They are put on the list too but I think in those cases of a boyfriend/girlfriend they shouldn't be if it was just that.
