State of Delaware Amber Alert SystemDear
Thank you for taking the time to contact the State of Delaware to inquire about our Amber Alert System. The Governor is in receipt of your e-mail and has asked that I respond on her behalf.
I have taken the liberty of forwarding your e-mail to The Delaware State Police for a response.
The Delaware State Police controls all activations of the Amber Alert Plan for all law enforcements agencies in the state. The Delaware State Police follow the same criterion that is recommended by the United States Department of Justice for Amber Alert programs. Once an Amber Alert Activation is authorized, the State Police disseminate the information regionally, mutil-regionally or statewide using the EAS alert.
While the law only requires activation of the EAS in child abduction cases meeting the Amber Alert criteria, the Delaware State Police utilize Lost Child Alert Technology Resource, "LOCATER," which is a web-based computer program that provides law enforcement with the tools and technology needed to rapidly broadcast missing-child images and information.

Again, thank you for your interest in our plan and if you need further information, please call our office at (302) 577-3210.
Sincerely,
Renee Purzycki MSW
