Dear PIO Mange,
Thank you for contacting me back. I am however still concerned about the States Endangered Missing/Runaways. I feel NCMEC is a godsend for the families of missing persons and do an excellent job. But it should be the responsibility of each individual state to make these alerts to the public. The reason I say this is due to 6 of Texas’s children who were delayed in being posted.
Kristy Vega Endangered Runaway October 3rd posted October 18th 15 days delayed
Kimberly Santacruz Endangered Runaway October 13th posted October 18th 5 days delayed
Samantha Gomez Endangered Runaway October 18th posted October 27th 9 days delayed
Danielle Hernandez Endangered Missing/Pregnant October 6th posted November 2nd 27 days delayed
William Allen Endangered Runaway October 5th posted November 2nd 28 days delayed.
Can you see why we are concerned. The reason I know the dates posted is that we check NCMEC missing 5 times a day for updates, removed in our Endangered Forum and Endangered Missing Alerts.
As a resident of Texas I strongly urge the Department to make some type of change to Include these children. No matter if they are runaways, abducted, family abductions they are still gone. While I applaud Texas’s Amber Alert System, being one of the better ones in place, like all things it needs improvement. And better communication between departments can only help not hurt. Being a former Communications Officer here in Texas I can speak from personal experience on this. Thank you for your time and I will be looking forward to our next email.
Sincerely,
Removed
