A 32-year-old New Haven man pleaded guilty Monday in Allen Superior Court in one of two sexual abuse cases.
Noah W. Klug, most recently of the 1100 block of Melbourne Drive, entered guilty pleas to two counts of child molesting under an agreement calling for him to serve two years in prison per count. Two additional molesting charges will be dismissed at sentencing if a judge accepts the plea agreement.
Klug testified that he touched two girls in an inappropriate sexual manner knowing both were younger than 14. The crimes occurred between October 1997 and December 1999.
When confronted by police, Klug admitted molesting both girls and wrote the family an apology letter, according to court records.
Klug had been out on bond, but officials revoked it after New Haven police began investigating him for similar crimes he is accused of committing while free on bond.
In early March, prosecutors charged him with seven counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, five counts of child solicitation and two counts of dissemination of matter harmful to minors. He is accused of inappropriately touching a 14-year-old girl in January. The girl also alleged Klug showed her a pornographic video, court documents said.
He is also accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl that began in 2003 and continued through the time he was on bond in the molesting case.
Klug will return to court for sentencing April 24 in the original molesting case.
6 years, restitution ordered in Taylor arson
An Allen Superior Court judge sentenced a 20-year-old man to six years of prison and two years’ probation Monday for setting fire to a Taylor University dormitory in October.
Jimmy A. Traxler, of Montpelier, Ohio, pleaded guilty last month to one count each of arson and false reporting. Judge Fran Gull dismissed another count of arson as outlined in a plea agreement.
Gull ordered Traxler to serve 10 years in prison but suspended four years and ordered him to complete two years on probation. During probation, Traxler must perform 80 hours of community service, pay $22,307 restitution and complete a criminal intervention program.
He must also complete a psychological evaluation and follow recommended treatment.
Traxler had been a student at the university and was working as a security guard at the time of the fire and had been lauded for his efforts during the fire.
The Oct. 8 fire at Schultz Hall, 1025 W. Rudisill Blvd., caused between $2 million to $2.8 million in damage to the century-old university dormitory. The fire also forced 22 students, two visitors and a university dorm supervisor from the building.
Students have had to live in other locations and lost many of their belongings as a result

A 19-year-old New Haven man admitted Monday in Allen Superior Court to having sex with a 15-year-old girl.
Kamron W. Guin, of the 600 block of Spillson Avenue, pleaded guilty to one of four counts of sexual misconduct with a minor. The other three charges are to be dismissed as part of a plea agreement recommending a four-year suspended prison sentence and four years of probation.
The agreement also requires Guin to complete sexual perpetrator counseling and that he have no contact with the girl.
He testified to having sex with a 15-year-old girl Oct. 3.
According to court records, a relative of the teen called police about Guin after discovering he had been at her home. The pair had been trying to date and Guin ignored her family’s request that he stay away because he was too old for her.
The teen told police they had sex on several occasions, according to court records.

A 20-year-old Fort Wayne man admitted Monday in Allen Superior Court to setting a Main Street house on fire in January.
Zachary R. Miller, of the 3100 block of Portage Boulevard, pleaded guilty to one count of arson under a plea agreement recommending a 10-year prison sentence with four years suspended and four years on probation.
The agreement also requires Miller to perform 20 hours of community service any week he is without full-time employment, to have no contact with the victims and to complete educational assessment and treatment at Allen County Community Corrections.
Miller testified that he became upset while attending a party at 1603 W. Main St., left and returned several hours later Jan. 1, pouring lighter fluid around the house and on stairs before igniting it.
Miller became upset after seeing his ex-girlfriend at the party with a man. Residents put the fire out before firefighters arrived. An investigator noticed Miller smelled like lighter fluid and began questioning him about the fire, according to court records.

18 months ordered in failure to register
An Allen Superior Court judge sentenced a 27-year-old sex offender to 18 months in prison Monday for failing to register as required upon moving to Allen County.
Jermaine D. Turner had not registered in Allen County as a convicted sex offender. He has a conviction from Illinois for criminal sexual assault, according to Illinois court records.
Turner told police in October when he was interviewed that he had lived in Fort Wayne for about 18 months but had never registered despite knowing he is required to do so. Court records said Turner had lived at four different addresses in Fort Wayne.
Judge Kenneth R. Scheibenberger sentenced Turner to 18 months in prison, granted him credit for serving 160 days and ordered him to pay a $100 public defender fee.
