TO DESECRTE THE FLAG ?... NOT ON MY WATCH
I posted this in the news and also here as this issue is dear to my heart. My Grandson is a Marine
our government attempted to pass a law that would make it a punishable offense to desecrate the American flag and it DID NOT PASS BY ONE FUCKING VOTE !!
I know that the “others” are all about the freedom of speech law, and I know that there are BIGGER fish to fry according to others, but this is what I CANNOT BELIEVE...
NO MATTER WHAT WE HAVE GOING ON IN THIS COUNTRY, OUR GOVERNMENT CANNOT MANAGE TO HAVE A UNANIMOUS VOTE ON NOT TO DESECRTE THE FLAG ?...
Sorry guys, stand up and speak. Without the ability to solve the no-brainer simple problems, this government is in dire peril. And don’t for one minute bash George Bush on this one, I GUARANTEE YOU given the freedom to actually speak his mind, he would kick some ass and take some names on the mere thought itself!
Remember this people, coming straight from the soap box, IF YOU DON’T STAND FOR SOMETHING, YOU WILL FALL FOR ANYTHING. If our country doesn’t get a real handle on this one soon, our simple matters very trivial, and our huge matters with results of biblical proportion will all end up the same, FUBAR. And please forgive me, but sometimes foul language is the only way to describe some major points, FUBAR means quite simply...fucked up beyond any repair. Forgive my “French”.
The 66-to-34 vote on the amendment was one vote short of the 67 required to send the amendment to the states for potential ratification as the 28th Amendment.

I'd love to know who had the dissending vote!! :evil: My husband was a Marine in Beruit in the 80's, my brother is AF, our nephew is Army just returned from Iraq, my grandmother was a Marine in WWII.......I could go on but I agree. FUBAR .........that seems to be the word for it these days!!
