Wilson Police issued a Silver Alert Monday for a 31-year-old man who suffers from a mental, cognitive impairment.
Officer Kolly Burritt, spokeswoman for the Wilson Police Department, said officers are looking for Vadieyier Graham, who was last seen at Wal-Mart between noon and 1:30 p.m. on Friday. Graham, who is a resident of a group home in Stantonsburg, was shopping with several other residents from the group facility when he wandered away.
Graham stands approximately 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He has short hair and a distinctive mole near his left eye. He was last seen wearing a brown coat, a dark T-shirt and jeans with the cuffs of the jeans turned up at the bottom.
Alexine McCollum, Administrator for Edwards Group Home in Stantonsurg said that Graham takes daily medication.
"We are very concerned about him being in the cold weather and without his medication," she said. "We have had teams out there looking for him. He is comfortable in abandoned houses and homeless shelters."
McCollum said from the information she has been able to put together that Graham was planning to run away from the home and took the first opportunity to do so.
Burritt said Graham could possibly be trying to get to Lumberton where some of his family lives.
"He doesn't have any money and is very comfortable hitchhiking," McCollum said.
Anyone with information about Graham or his whereabouts is asked to call the Wilson Police Department at 399-2323 or 911.
