Ashley Co. Still Seeking Registered Sex Offender The Ashley County Sheriff's Department is still seeking assistance from the public to locate a Level 3 registered sex offender who has eluded law enforcement officers since October, 2005. According to chief investigator/captain Guy Hughes, Calvin Randell Fairchild, also known as Randy Fairchild, 43, of Ashley County, was convicted on June 24, 2003, on attempted possession of child pornography and sexual solicitation of a minor. Those charges, Hughes said, stemmed from Fairchild requesting nude photos of and attempting to engage in sexual contact with a 16-year-old male. On October 25, 2005, Hughes said, an arrest warrant was issued against Fairchild for computer crimes against minors after state and county law enforcement officers found child pornography on Fairchild's home computer during a home visit. "Fairchild fled before a warrant could be served, and he has not been located since," said Hughes. Fairchild is considered extremely dangerous, according to Hughes.
