What a Molester Wants
What a Molester Wants Inside the mind of a child molester -- how he chooses his victims -- and why you may never suspect a thing - until it's too late. From the playground... to the playing field... in your neighborhood... or in your home... A sexual predator... can be waiting to steal the innocence of another young victim. "For me, it was the just... boyish skin.. the boyish face," says "Brandon" as we'll call him... is a convicted child molester. Sex Offender Brandon says, "The two victims I was actually charged with, one was a 13-year-old girl, one was an 8-year-old-boy." Brandon says he molested 11 children... before spending nearly two years in a Maricopa County jail. He agreed to an interview... on the condition we hide his identity. Brandon says, "The way I assaulted my victims was more through manipulation." "Getting them to trust me, getting their parents to trust me, and then playing games like truth or dare." Brandon says... to his victims families... he looked like a model citizen and trusted babysitter. Brandon says, "Then I'd start doing stuff like sleeping with them in their bed, getting close to them by saying I like to cuddle and cuddle with them." Brandon says, "I would dare them to let me kiss them, or I would dare them to let me touch them... just basically led to where I was giving them oral sex." His victims... had one thing in common. And it was NOT what they looked like or how they dressed. Brandon says, "It was the fact they didn't have good families. I can't stress that enough... lonely, hurting obviously, didn't have a lot of attention." While Brandon says registered sex offenders like him get a lot of attention... with close supervision and yearly polygraph tests... It's those who haven't been caught -- who pose the biggest danger. Brandon says, "People don't realize how many sex offenders there are. It's crazy." Less than 15 percent of the time... is a child molester a complete stranger.. snatching kids from a park or neighborhood. Most cases -- it's a relative -- or someone the victim knows and trusts. Brandon says he chose to step forward... in hopes of preventing more children from getting hurt. http://www.kpho.com/Global/story.asp?S=1276968&nav=23Ku
